    Default Veto Worthy Trade?

    Dynasty league with farm system.

This was about 4-6 weeks ago....so for the playoff run. Halak just got traded to WAS.

    Team trying to rebuild gets...
    Yakupov
    Drouin
    Strome

One of the top teams in the league gets...
    Byfuglien
    Sharp
    Halak

    Is this veto worthy?

    Thanks.

Without knowing much about the league dynamics I'm going to say no, it is not veto-worthy. Lots of people overvalue youth, you can call them stupid but you can't take away their freedom to run their team how they see fit.

I don't think so, if it helped the top team win this year.

The rebuilding will be loving this in two years.

The win-now team almost certainly won, but if this is a point only league without positional eligibility... It isn't clear cut.

It's fine. You gave the reasons for them making the deal so those managers have chosen how they want to manage their teams.

What are the keeper rules in your league. If I am the rebuilding team I got 3 guys with huge upside, if 1 pans out good, 2 great, and all 3 - then who got robbed.
Also do you have any trading rules in your league, such as no more that so may trades with one team, cap implications etc.

I don't see this as veto worthy, a lot of assets going either way
I once traded Henrik Lundqvist and Ilya Kovalchuk in return for Peter Budaj and Henrik Zetterberg… have lived in shame ever since.

No rules around trading. No cap.

I'd been trying to trade Sharp for a while. Players over 30 in this league are almost garbage for some reason. This was by far the best deal I was able to make, but it got vetoed...by the same people who would not give nearly as much.

Pathetic league if they vetoed that deal. Did they give a reason? That should be required for all vetoes, and most often than not it's probably for petty reasons IMO (this team got too much blah blah). If that's the case I probably wouldn't hang around long.

I would be pissed that I didn't get Drouin, Yaks, & Strome for what isn't what I would call top 10 players. Weren't you able to present your case. How many points did those other guys get the last 6 weeks of the season? you were getting 3 blue chip prospects. Buff may not be D eligble next year.
See if the guy will make that trade in the off season.

After numerous post on how players over 30 have steep declines, some said Sharp was an exception. Others said I was tanking to get a better pick. Not really possible for me...since I've been starting my rebuild, I've acquired players like RNH, JVR, Gudas, etc, that make it hard for me to tank. I think some do not like the GM getting Sharp, Buff, and Halak. There certainly is a lot of bickering in this league. Was just posting this to make sure I'm not crazy.

How do you go about rebuilding in this league? Sharp is getting past his prime - if he has a decent playoff, I would look at unloading him. Who knows where Halak ends up?

I am a rebuilding team (1st team in sig), and would have probably made the deal. I might have even pushed for a draft pick too, but in the end, the rebuilding team did OK if even two of those guys make their potential.

If that type of deal gets vetoed, I'm surprised any deal gets done in your league, to be honest.

Did it take six weeks to veto?
