SEASON FINALE - Tied for 1st BIG DECISION

Hey boys,

I am in a 12 team roto-style league (league info below). It has been a hectic last week of the season. I have seen my 5 point lead disappear over the past week. Everything that could have gone wrong, did. I am currently tied with 1st and have MAJOR decisions to make today. The goalie categories are REALLY tight at the moment and I have to decide who to start.

Miller vs. DET

As of now Howard is confirmed to play. Miller has not been named starter but I'm guessing he will since the game has playoff implications. I currently am tied in wins with another team and sit at 2.43 GAA with a team at 2.42. So with a solid goalie showing today I can potentially gain 1 point. Problem is with a poor showing I can also drop points as there is a guy sitting at 2.44 GAA and 914% SV as I am at 915%. So what would you do?

1. Start one of the goalie most likely Miller since they need it and the Wings don't.
2. Start both goalies to guarantee a win if they both GO.
3. Start none and not risk losing the tie and instead hope to win in another category such as +/- which I am behind by like 3.

I think the answer here is to start both goalies and just roll with them. I've gotten destroyed by my goalies past few days as many of you know lol... Thanks for any help!!!

You have to expect today's game to be low scoring, after all its basically a playoff game and playoff atmosphere which usually means a tight game, sound defense. Both these teams are without star players so their offensive punch is less that what it would be. I would personally start both goalies in your situation ( as long as they are confirmed). You'll get a W for sure from one of them and you should get solid Sv% and GAA.

I'd go with both as well. I think you take the guaranteed win and gamble that the game is low-enough scoring to not hurt your GAA and SV%.

Home game for the Blues who are limping, which they want to correct before the playoffs - yeah I think Howard is in for a toughish night.

BONUS - someone got a shutout - hope you started Miller - should keep you in the hunt. Can't believe they switched to Mrzak as I had started Howard too, went out and came back to see goalie change.

I'm so rattled. Not only did the Blues lose but the Wings got the SO without Howard who was projected to start.... FML.
