My main league:
fantasyhockeygeek.com is very useful as well.
Frozen pool and Dobbers guide work well for me, and posting on the forums on players, get a lot of helpful info. a true community
Piranha Hockey League est 1990 - Oakley Doakley's - 16 teams
Pts only W=2 OL=1 SO=3 Auction Draft
WHL - est 2016 Expansion - Glasgow Kiss - 24 teams

#1 most important advice: use as many tools as possible. Even if a site is less useful they offer different points of view and will highlight different players. It gives you more food for thought to formulate your own final opinion that applies to your league.
Also, don't just look for freebies. Invest a few dollars for some more in-depth publications (fantasy guide, prospects report, other sites).
Fantasyhockeygeek is fantastic for league-specific value. However it only shows you what has been done and can only be used as an indicator of what is to come. Guys with fewer GP that season obviously get ranked lower so you have to catch this to know what that player might offer next year.
Prospects:
dobberprospects
hockeysfuture
hockeyprospectus
hockey news forecaster (the player bios can sometimes offer useful tidbits)
Use them all as they each offer something. Some more than others but nobody can do every prospect justice.

Nice - love the prospect sites... need to get my keepers in check!
and +1 for the forums - always get good ideas from there.
Yah for whatever reason i always looked at paid sites as cheating (haha) but obviously that's probably were the good stuff is at.
Also, Daily Faceoff stole the line combos idea from Frozen Pool.
http://hockey.dobbersports.com/frozenpool - I have links to the line combos all over the place (including PP, yes - and line production too)...and line combos of the current game in progress!
Here's a direct link to the last three games lines (I use those a lot):

www.leftwinglock.com for starting goalies, they also have a useful tool for H2H leagues where you can calculate your's or your opponents goalie stats in different scenarios.
A random tool that I also came across late in this season: http://www.fantasysp.com/start-sit-tool/nhl .... I didnt use it a lot but could be useful
Of course rjfisher's same night tool tha he posts i the forum is very valuable for H2H leagues: - http://forums.dobbersports.com/showt...ght=night+tool
there was also this thread from 2010 that gets the odd update - http://forums.dobbersports.com/showt...ght=night+tool
I enjoy using roto-world for daily player updates. CBS fantasy actually does a nice job in the pre-season at giving individual player breakdowns (or at least they did in the past). Typically you wouldn't think of them as a resource but they had a fair amount of content
I once traded Henrik Lundqvist and Ilya Kovalchuk in return for Peter Budaj and Henrik Zetterberg… have lived in shame ever since.
