Yep, any team not willing to get sucked into their non-sense and take penalties can walk all over them.

The Rangers played a smart game. Let the Flyers take stupid penalties and capitalize on the PP. And the constant pressure on the D allowed them to control the game.

I can't disagree with this. That said, the Schenn and Giroux penalties were foolish, junk penalties that deserve a ripping from the coach. But the Akeson kid was just trying to finish his check and unfortunately went down and the stick came up. He lead with the shoulder and tried to deliver a nice hit - I'm sure he learned tonight he's too small to take the body from that angle. The Rangers are a very smart, disciplined team who will make you pay if you give them an opportunity... the Flyers gave them many tonight.

If PHI can stay out of the box, they can make a series of it, otherwise not.

I wasn't able to catch the game today. Can someone give me a breakdown of events?

Rangers scored the first 2 goals, including on the PP, in the 1st period. Voracek scored in the 1st to cut the lead in half. The Flyers scored the next 2 goals (Akeson and L.Schenn) making it 3-2 heading into the 3rd period. Then Simmonds iced the game with an empty netter. It was a chippy game and Emery was the Flyers best player.

Emery was our best player! That is what I like to hear. Going home with a 1-1 series is pretty good. Broke the streak so it's all on now.

Such a quiet thread for such a big series.....

I only caught the third period today as I was travelling, but I did not like what I saw. G aint doing nuthin. Boys aint got much flow or swagger at all. Didn't appear all that dangerous. Hartnell got robbed once. Vinnie had one really nice individual effort, but flicked it way, way high. Both would have been awesome goals, but it wasn't meant to be. On the other hand, NYR gets one chance and Carcillo puts it in. Like I said, only one period, but the boys really need to do a lot better than that to beat the Rags.

Giroux needs to wake up and the Flyers desperately need to address a true PP QB in the offseason.

Well, as Dobber has reported in today's ramblings: according to Tom Gullitti -

    Claude Giroux's guarantee:

"We’ll be ready for Game 4. We’re going to tie up the series and go back to New York."

Let's see if he can walk the talk!
