Default Erik Johnson vs Tyson Barrie

Who do you guys think will get more points for the Avs next year? I'm thinking they might end up with about the same numbers, but Barrie could be had for way cheaper. Thoughts?

Barrie has the much higher offensive upside IMO. I would go with Barrie.

    Barrie > Johnson.

Barrie has been fantastic but you cannot expect his 13.0 Shooting% to stick that high annually.

Barrie gets my vote - thinking 50 pts next year in a full season of QBing the PP.

Potentially a toss up but I would go with Barrie. EJ comes with baggage, isn't quite as offensively-gifted and he's been surprisingly healthy this year for the most part - not sure that happens again next year.

Barrie and EJ compliment each other. Without the pressure to perform offensively, EJ's game has rounded out and he seems much more comfortable on the ice. This guys is good, and you are finally seeing that this year on a consistent basis. Barrie, well, he's shown the offensive upside already that EJ struggled with early on. Going forward, the Av's are in pretty good shape! Barrie should put up the better offensive numbers but EJ will contribute nicely himself. If Barrie is indeed the cheaper option then take that bargain and don't look back.

after watching Matt Cooke do a number on Barrie's leg, I would probably put money on EJ right now
Consider Sim Hockey because guys who play shutdown minutes, deflect shots and clear creases build championships. Yet in fantasy they litter the unwanted UFA lists.

I posted that in the game thread. Can the league just toss this turd for good finally? Either that or someone needs to break his neck.

Barrie will be ready to go next year. I still invest in Barrie > EJ.

Avs fan and I've never been a fan of EJ--maybe it was the lopsided trade? The high expectations that were on him? I'd go with Barrie like most of the replies.
