Couldn't see that coming either - thought they would at least wait till season done, guess they didn't want to hear any more fire Nonis chants at home games.

Feaster, Nicholson, Messier and Linden all rumored in some fashion for the Canucks.

Who ever takes over will have their hands full with this organization. It will be interesting to see if the replacement will simply be a President or a dual role of President/GM like Gillis was.

Who ever the new GM will be, they will have their hands full. An older team with limited prospects coming up and a lot of no trade clauses in the star players.

My guess is Torts will spend the remaining games hiding in the opposing dressing room to try to avoid being canned. He has plenty of practice trying to get there during intermissions.

I feel bad for the new guy. Looking through their prospect list there isn't a whole lot to start with. Ryan Kesler isn't exactly 24 any more either....
I once traded Henrik Lundqvist and Ilya Kovalchuk in return for Peter Budaj and Henrik Zetterberg… have lived in shame ever since.

lol, exactly! Edmonton should have never gone with Tambellini in the first place. Go back to Van City.

Get the gang back together. Khabibulin isn't too busy, Philly could probably let Lecavalier go with how well he's doing there and Marty St. Louis will be free after the Rangers are bounced after the first round of the playoffs this year.

I would love to see Feaster go to Vancouver, but if I remember correctly, he doesn't believe in rebuilds, so he's probably the right candidate. The Canucks probably don't need to blow it all up, just a tune up should get them back in playoff contention.

OR, hire Linden as President of Hockey Operations and then Messier as GM...they're friends, right? Right?

Trade the Sedins, fire Torts, they have cap space, let the rebuild begin!

    Ain't pretty.
But I still think there's a shot for a quick turnaround.

I thought it was Flames ownership that didn't believe in rebuilds.

You're right, but Feaster was their talking head...and since I'm an Oiler fan, I like to hate on the Flames and Feaster whenever possible!
