    Agreed. Tarasenko for sure.

    What about Scheifele?
34 pts in 63 games this year.

55 if he plays a full season next year?
He was getting better ice time just before he got hurt, and they seemed to be putting more trust in him.

What would he have to do to 'break out' next season?

He would have to stay healthy for one.. He would also have to avoid the dreaded sophomore slump slot of young players experience..
I do agree that he has a great chance to surprise and put up 50 points, with the right line mates..

Lost is the success of others of the 2013 draft is Elias Lindholm. At his current pace, over 82 game he would have had 30 points. Nothing to get him hyped or in the Calder conversation but as an 18/19 year old that is pretty special. Add onto that it is his first season in North America, it is even more impressive.

Based on this criteria you'd have to throw Barkov's name into the mix as well, 24pts in 54gp (36pt pace over 82gp). All with very little help around him.

Haven't really had the time to read everyone's responses, and he's already been mentioned I'm sure, but I would venture a guess and say Jonathan Huberdeau has a GREAT shot of really breaking out next season. He has gone through the horrible sophomore slump this season, and recent news has confirmed that he suffered a concussion with his most recent UBI. The price might be really appealing at this point, and he's worth a shot if you can snag him going into next season.

I traded MSL + Josh Bailey + Pysyk in my dynasty league for Huberdeau + Gardiner + Derrick Pouliot, and I'm pretty damn stoked with the return. If you have the opportunity to ship off an older producer, someone who might just be on the decline (yet still valuable), I'd move him in a second for Huberdeau. The wait shouldn't be more than a couple more seasons until he is reliably a top offensive option in fantasy leagues.

What's everyones thoughts on Charlie Coyle? He has gotten his feet wet now in the NHL, but does he take a step forward next year offensively?

Baby steps forward with him. Excellent physical tools, great frame, good skater, nose for the net. If he does 20+ - 20+ next year on a full season, I would consider that a good step forward. He won't be your 70 pt guy, but 60+ is in his range IMO when he tops out. I'm a a fan.

Tarasenko, Granlund and Scheifele would be my candidates. Huberdeau and Toffoli as other possibilities. Only one of those guys is in the East lol.

Also, can Nyqvist be next year's Nyqvist? lol. I am just a huge fan right now. The guy is unreal. Surely, a 20% scoring rate, 6% or so above his usual avg cannot be sustained and his historical production shows him more a rounded scorer than sniper, but man oh man is this fun to watch.

Yeah, I'm inclined to believe that there won't be any "next year's Nyquist." He's that good, there won't be a breakout like this next year IMO. Highlight-reel goals on a nightly basis ... it's just getting ridiculous.

Can you guys please enlighten me on why I keep hearing Tarasenko's name here on this thread? The kid's excellent, no doubt, but do you guys really think he can flourish and reach his full potential in St.Louis under Hitchcock given his usage and all the other forwards ahead of him on the depth chart?

I would agree with Wink, think Scheif's gets close to 60 next year, he was starting to come on till he got hurt.

I think Tarasenko's strength and awareness within the STL system is only going to increase, and with that he will receive a more expanded role with the team, hopefully leading to some dynamite offensive production. He's already shown in his first two seasons that he has the ability to produce some quick-strike offense without top-line minutes; as his defensive awareness and strength improve, I think Tarasenko will certainly receive an expanded role with the Blues. It's only a matter of time, and I'm inclined to believe that he's got the talent to succeed regardless of the team he's on. Now, would he be more successful somewhere else? Probably, but he will still be a good fantasy player in STL.
