I've been offered Spiller and a fourth round pick for my first rounder. I placed in the bottom of the league so my pick is quite good. Is it worth it to give that up for spiller?
12 team league - 5 keepers
My team:
R.G111, A. Peterson, J. Graham, Rice, Floyd
Shorts, Ivory, Hopkins, Wayne are other notables
13 Team Keeper (keep 6), Weekly H2H, Dress 6 F, 4 D, 2 G's. 1G, 1A, GW2 SO2
F: Tavares, Eichel, Hall, Schenn, Arvidson, Miller, Bertuzzi
D: Karlsson, Pionk, Hronek, Trouba, Schmidt
Goalies: Dubnyk, Bishop,Griess
Hi Whale - Thanks a lot for the input - it's our first season so I can't put a value on draft picks. I assume, with my first pick, i'll be taking a touted rookie, or maybe a solid WR as that will be a hole on my team.
I've gotten the other GM to drop down to a second. So it'd be Spiller & a 4th for my 2nd
I maintain my first rounder and end up with 3 x 4th rounders.

I'm still not sure on that, but Spiller's upside is worth the gamble
What he said. Smart owners go after draft picks prior to the NFL draft because their perceived value is more abstract. Once the NFL draft occurs that's when fantasy first rounders increase in value. Now rooks are tied to actual NFL teams and fantasy GMs begin salivating as they over value prospects on particular teams.
Consequently, over paying at the very notion of recruiting "their" targeted player.
Hold your cards for time being.

Here's another tip re Spiller. If the Bill's draft RT with their first rounder, theory is this would imply that the Bills will rely on their RBs and defense (ie, ball control) to win them games rather than relying on EJs arm. Point being, if Bills do indeed go RT, Spiller's stock climbs.
