Default Gaudreau now with 74pts and countng on the season

Chris Peters reports- With four points so far today, Johnny Gaudreau's point total now at 73, highest in NCAA since 2002-03 season when CC's Peter Sejna scored 82.

Hat trick, Gaudreau. From below goal line. The Hobey Baker will be in his locker by the second intermission.

Update- he now has 5 pts and counting for Boston College after the 2nd period against Denver in the NCAA Northeast Regional.

Insane. Really curious to see how he does at the NHL level in a few years. He's developed drouin-like stick skills and is probably even faster. I hope he can make a nice little career for himself because he is so fun to watch

Some guy that could put up points at will anywhere outside the NHL. He was a pretty famous bust from about a decade ago lol. I owned him on one team back in the day and by the time I moved on I was lucky to get a pick back in return.

Chris Kunitz had a 79 point season in 02-03 too, he didn't bust...

Either way, I don't think Gaudreau will be in CGY next year, maybe a cup of coffee, I just read this...

77 points now for Gaudreau but I don't believe his 5'8" listing; I'd say probably more like 5'6" or 7".

Amazing talent but his size will always have a huge question mark hanging over him. He's 20yrs old now so a growth spurt is unlikely. I really do hope he makes it though. I think there are opportunities in Calgary and I'm sure they'll be making a huge push to get him signed and leave school early rather than chance losing him to free agency next summer.

Personally I think Gaudreau will be a much better player than Ennis. He has the hands, quickness and passing to be an all-star if he can get around his height. If St. Louis and Fleury did it, why can't he?

I also believe he will bail on Calgary, and in that case I hope his career is a disaster lol. I will be one bitter Flames fan if he pulls a Schultz and screws over the organization.

St. Louis and Fleury are exceptions to the rule, they should not be used of examples as to why highly-skilled smaller players are likely to have success. I could point to a lot more than 2 highly skilled small players that never sniffed an NHL dressing room.

He is committed to Calgary and they have his rights.

Ennis was one of the best players in junior and has everything you mentioned. His skill is off the charts

You mention those two but the list of similar players that did nothing is exponentially longer.

The list of fails is no doubt much longer than the list of successes, though I can't think of them all from over the years.

I know the odds are against him, but I think he is better than Ennis and has dominated at every level. His WJC performance was a big reason why I think he can make it, and I think he can be that exception to the rule. The same was said about Fleury and St. Louis prior, the odds are obviously always against these players.

Also, how do we know he is committed to Calgary?? He could bolt just like Schultz, and his moms comments have kind of indicated that she may influence him to stay in the east. He had a great relationship with Feaster, but Feaster is gone and it wasn't even a guarantee then. We'll see but I can tell he is considering choosing where he plays.

I'd say Marcel Dionne belongs on that list...
