Why is Ryan not on IR?

Even the Martians know Ryan is done for the year but in Yahoo he remains DTD! It's bad enough losing him, but now I can't even replace him!! Is this a Yahoo thing or a Sens thing? Is this likely to change? Anybody know?

Yahoo has to wait until the NHL team puts the player on IR. If the Sens don't need to do that for cap reasons, then they won't - and they can do it retroactively, so they'll wait until their certainty goes from 99.9% to 100.0%. If they need to call up another player, I think they'll have to. We are at their mercy

Hey man, I feel your pain. Josh Gorges and Dennis Wideman have both been DTD for weeks. I had to choose whether to roll the dice by being short two players in the playoffs or just drop 2 guys I wanted to keep for next year. I chose to hang on to them and ended up tying in cats and losing due to yahoo's tie-breaker.

In yearly leagues sure, but dropping him in a keeper league isn't really an option for a lot of people. Yahoo introduced an IR+ spot this year for players listed as DTD to help with this issue but it has to be allowed by the commisioner first. Our league decided to wait until next year before adding said IR+ spot which is pretty sucky for me since I have Duchene and Ryan rotting on my bench taking up valuable roster space during the playoffs. Them's the breaks, though.

After the trade deadline cap space is useless and teams can carry as many players as they'd like on the active roster, so there isn't really any point for them to do so except to appease fantasy owners. Needless to say that's not a concern of theirs.

Today Anaheim called up Gibson and Smith-Pelly, but apparently didn't put Andersen and Jackman on IR.

Also, a related question... is there an NHL webpage somewhere that lists players on the actual league IR? Some teams seem to indicate this with a star next to players' names on the roster page of the team website, but other teams do not... like Anaheim. Yahoo says Souray is on IR but this is not shown on the ducks website.
