You know, I've been having a pretty shitty week, but I can at least take solace in the fact that at least I'm not a Leafs fan. I feel for you guys, I really do. I've witnessed some pretty epic collapses before, but this is getting ridiculous.
    Without me, it's only "aweso".

Sad state of affairs - Canadian hockey rocks, yet none of the Canadian franchise teams look like a Cup contender and 6 of the 7 may not even make the playoffs! I understand that the correlation is a stretch, and none of these teams have predominantly Canadian rosters, but some of the high end talent is there, yet there is something missing in how these franchises are being managed, or how they play, Or just plain ordinary rosters.

Take Vancouver for instance - from a perennial Presidents cup contender to where they are today, completely mismanaged (goalie situation was a farce, choosing Torts to coach them - I could go on)
League 1: 2021 Dobber Entry (Patrick), Yahoo Roto, 10 Teams
    4C, 4LW, 4RW, 6D, 2G start; 5 Bench
    Skaters: G, A, +/-, PPP, SOG, Hits
    Goalies: W, Saves, GAA

    Forwards:
    C: Malkin, ROR, Backstrom
    LW: Forsberg, Parise
RW: Gallagher, Hornqvist, D Brown, Kessel
Dual Eligibility: Svechnikov, Jamie Benn, Radulov, Domi, Rakell, Pavelski
Defense: Hamilton, Letang, OEL, Suter, Spurgeon, Girard
    Goalies: Vasilevskyi, Lehner, Mrazek, Reimer

Two weeks ago Sean McIndoe (DGB) did a bubble team run down, this is the entry for the Leafs:

    Toronto Maple Leafs

Current status: IN (35-24-8, 78 points, seven points up for wild-card spot)

Remaining schedule: They’re in the middle of a tough road trip right now that features all three California teams, plus the Caps and Red Wings. But once that’s done it gets easier; they play seven of nine at home against a mixed bag of opponents.

The optimist’s view: They’re seven points up, so at this point, it’s stretching things to even include them as a bubble team. Barring an almost historic collapse, they’ll be fine.

The pessimist’s view: It’s the Maple Leafs. You saw the part about “barring an almost historic collapse,” right?

Worth noting: The Leafs are currently ninth overall in the standings, despite having a negative goals differential and being the league’s second-worst team in Fenwick close percentage.
Emphasis added, but let's just say it looks like he may have nailed it!

Not quite - a win against Detroit tonight has them right in the mix again.

Not really, they have to win all of their games pretty much. Can't see that happening.

This whole Toronto season has been like an anti-Reimer Leaf fan on twitter: consistently sad, then downright pathetic once you get to April~DownGoesBrown
