You're starting an NHL franchise. Do you take Seguin or Hall?

Put me down for Seguin. I've seen enough. So awesome this year, and stays healthy

So you are saying if you were drafting for your keeper pool today, you would draft Seguin before you would draft Hall?

No, I'm saying if you expand to Las Vegas and you suddenly had the chance to add one or the other (for whatever reason), who would you have?

Not fantasy related, otherwise I'd toss it in the keeper league section

Actually, Vegas was a bad example, given Seguin's party history

    right now id take seguin.
but from the begining ive missed the better player for 3 seasons, so now id need 3 better seasons out of seguin to make them even as draft picks.
.... not really sure if hall was better for 3 straight seasons but definantly 2 of the 3.

I actually thought when the Taylor/Tyler debate was going on that Tyler would be better, mostly because he had to do more for his junior team in Plymouth.

There's been more, uh, growing pains for Seguin. Now Hall is dealing with his team's growing pains.

But, to be fully honest, this is a total toss-up for me fantasy-wise.

I guess from the real-life standpoint, I would take the centre. Far more important than a winner (just ask Paul Maurice)

I'd choose Hall. After the last few years in Edmonton, he'd be better equipped to handle continuously losing on an expansion team.

Or going to an expansion team might actually be an improvement.

Seriously, I'd still take Hall. He has less to work with than Seguin does, and has still been a point-per-game player the last two years.

Goalies: Kochetkov, Talbot, Vasilevskiy, Campbell, Schmid

    Seguin for me too.

...and here's why (for me) - 1) defensively appears to be more responsible 2) Better center (Hall was tried at Center but did not do too well) 3) Capable of making his line mates better (sure looks like it, given his obvious chemistry with Benn)

The Oilers f*cked up. Seguin is the better player and he is at a more important position.

I think you could easily argue that the Oilers screwed up all three of their first overall picks.

Hall for me. He was perhaps the only correct pick by the oilers over the past 4 years. Eberle aswell for that matter. RNH should have been a D...and perhaps yak would be else where and the oil would be challenging for a playoff spot this year.

Hall vs Seguin was a formidable 1 2 draft. Could have gone either way. Today they are still compatible, with only down sides being Seguins mental game, specifically off the ice, and Hall's perceived reckless play.

However, as kessel was successful in silencing the "thank you" chants in favor of Seguin...I believe Hall will slowly distance himself from Segs or at the very least, continue to earn that #1 overall status from that draft class.

The Oilers could be mighty formidable with Landeskog / Seguin / Galchenyuk ... Ultimately, I think I'll still take Hall here. More proven, he plays at a MUCH thinner position (LW), and I like his peripheral contributions more than Seguin (the volatile +/- aside). They're both point-per-game talents, but I think Hall's track record and position tip the scales for me.

I think they will both develop into top-5 players at their respective natural positions.

I'd take Seguin mainly because strength down the middle is key to NHL success.
