Really tough to call at this point, both are pretty much wait and see. Which I suppose is why no one is leaping to respond. Both have great potential, both have just as many question marks.
Is there any way these 2 can be compared?
Considering both stay in their currenty surroundings...
how do each compare in POints projection? Next year and long term?
who can each be compared to with respect to proven stars?
Does anything Change if Yak gets moved in the off season?
Who's will contribute more on peripherals (PPP, PIM's, Plus/Minus, GWG?)
Trying to guage Kuz's keeper status moving forward vs Yak who I just traded away.
Thanks all.

I own both and right now I dont know yet witch one I prefer...
Yakupov is playing like a dick this season but how can I forget what he's done last year....
Kuznetsov is still younf and he's been doing nice things in KHL but he just arrived and it as been an injured year so its tought to judge him..
they both have 65 to 85 pts potential but its still too early to tell
Sorry but to soon to make projections for me at this point...

Need more of a sample size from these guys. Yak has more NHL time and I'm not sold but still early in his career. Kuz just came over and no way to accurately gauge what he'll do. This is a wait-and-see approach.
Unanimous. Hard to compare these guys at this point. I traded away yak, but was able to get kuz thrown in on the back end of that trade. Hoping they both thrive...but kuz more! I do like the fact that kuz is surrounded by vet talent, something I think all the oil kids need.
Thanks guys.
Such a difficult one to project. For me Yakupov has the higher ceiling (40 goals, 280+ shots) if everything goes right. However, Kuznetsov will be playing in the top 6 for WSH immediately and getting PP time with Ov - which should result in 60+ points and 230+ shots as soon as next year. I guess it depends on your risk factor and whether you are looking for a home run or just a solid producer at this point.
I once traded Henrik Lundqvist and Ilya Kovalchuk in return for Peter Budaj and Henrik Zetterberg… have lived in shame ever since.

Well... Yak is gone. No longer my problem.
My yak and Chara
For
His eberle, kuznetsov and a 3rd round pick.
Il looking for kuznetsov to make me think twice about keeping Gaborik over kuz. But I'll gladly take eberle over yak for now as I continue to gun for 1st! And if kuz parallels yak...I think I come out well a head in this trade.
Eberle and Kuz for Yak and Chara long term is a good deal for you, and you got a draft pick to boot!!
That saying, I would prefer Yakupov over Kuznetsov in any fantasy format.. But that is just personal preference and gut instinct..
I own both... Yakupov was drafted a lot higher, and i'd still value him higher.
10 team pts-only keeper league - keep 10 plus 10 from past/present farm. No bench: entire active roster counts. Goalies: 2 pts/win + 3/shutout. 82 adds / year. NHL playoffs count for separate prize.

Traded them both in the last few weeks. Given the re acquire option.....it's equal. Yak dips more flashy, Kuznetsov is more likely to reach potential.
But I lost faith in both.

Its a good question, my preference would be for Kuz due to Washington having less talent up front than the Oilers do.
Perhaps a better way to look at it would be to swap the two and ask the question again
Yak on Wash and Kuz on the Oilers
In that case I would probably go with Yak
Consider Sim Hockey because guys who play shutdown minutes, deflect shots and clear creases build championships. Yet in fantasy they litter the unwanted UFA lists.
Kuznetsov has impressed me quite a bit since his arrival which is a surprise. Based on talent, maturity and situation I would take him over Yakupov. I'm not writing Yakupov off as a "bust" in any way; I am just that impressed with Kuznetsov.
