I have been following it fairly closely on the news most nights (the news is pretty much covering Crimera and this event hardcore anyways). The Chris Goodfellow article is a good one and makes a lot of sense. There is limited airports in that area that can land a jet that size and I am sure the pilot knew all of them in his area. That being said, if there indeed was a fire of some sort and he needed to turn off the transponder and other electronics to try and limit the smoke, why didn't the pilot send some sort of immediate notification that there was an issue and what his plan was?

You may also have heard about the airliner which vanished in Malaysia. Flight 370 was just off the eastern coast over shallow water when it wavered in the air then suddenly dropped from 35,000 feet to 0 and disappeared. At the same time, radar showed a "plane" which suddenly accelerated to 4 or 5 times the speed of any other craft, hovered in one place, then suddenly vanished from the radar screen, seconds before the airliner also disappeared.

I find myself looking at updates multiple times a day. It is so frustrating to not have more details. Both articles are intrigueing. Goodfellow makes sense, and then I second guess it based on the Davies article. It is also intrigueing that residence of Maldives claim to have seen a low flying jet that morning (seems too convenient), but validates Goodfellow.

In the case of fire the first response if to pull all the main busses and restore circuits one by one until you have isolated the bad one. If they pulled the busses the plane indeed would go silent. It was probably a serious event and they simply were occupied with controlling the plane and trying to fight the fire. Aviate, Navigate and lastly communicate..."

If it was a slow fire, there's no way that they would have not taken 10 seconds to report a mayday before changing course. If it wasn't delibertly changed, a critical event had to happen to shut down all power on the plane at the same time before a distress call could be made, and the transponders shutting off. Cell phones don't have signal at that altitude, especially in the middle of the ocean, I've tried before.

So it's aliens or a conspiracy theory and the plane is in a hangar somewhere? I refuse to believe the ''crash'' scenario; too much evidence points otherwise.

What if that oil rig worker off the coast of Vietnam was right and he did witness the plane crash into the ocean about 50 km SE of the coast. I still think the explosion and crash scenerio makes the most sense for me. It's too uncanny that those 2 dudes from Iran boarded the plane with illegal passports and the plane magically disappears. If it was a hijack, then it would mean that there's somebody on the plane that they wanted and there would should be some sort of request for ransom. If it was a typical jihad terrorist ploy, someone would want to take credit for getting rid of of those infidels. I have a feeling, they're not going to ever find this plane and nobody is really going to know what really happened.

I also read somewhere, true or not, that 20 people were workers from a high tech company. And some of the stuff they work on is electric cars, and one facet of the argument was potentially cloaking technology. I thought that was pretty intriguing as well!
