Best Site for a Keeper League
My friends and I are looking to start a keeper league next season and I was just curious which site is the best to use.
I have only used ESPN and Yahoo for one year leagues. I like ESPN the best just because of the design of the website and how efficient is compared to Yahoo. But I'd rather have a site that has better settings than be visually appealing to help me run a successful league.

CBS Sportsline has the best site, imo. It is highly configurable. They will modify their site settings to meet any specific requirements you have for the site. The only downside is that it costs around $150 US a year to host your league on their site. It is worth it, imo, if your league is very complex.

We use PoolExpert, and it's pretty good.

I used Yahoo, CBS and Fantrax. Fantrax is the best site to have your league on and to me it isnt even close. I will only go in keeper leagues that are on Fantrax, I will not use the other ones anymore.

Do you really want them to do that though? I can only imagine that they'd butcher it beyond usability much like they do to everything else. You probably wouldn't even be able to add half of the guys you drafted.

Ugh. This issue has been driving me nuts. I know that Fantrax is the best, as I took the site for a test drive this summer, yet everyone in my league is cheap and fear change, so I can't convince them to make the switch from yahoo. Some of the managers in my league are on the road a lot with work and like the convenience of the yahoo phone app as the primary method of managing their teams. It sucks for me as I'm the commish and being in Yahoo is just more work for me every year as farm systems grow and managers repeatedly add players that are already on other people's farm teams. It's too bad, as the level of customization in Fantrax is nothing short of amazing and would make my life as commish 500% easier.
The one thing I am doing though, is encouraging fellow disgruntled Yahoo users (especially commissioners) to email Yahoo customer care, explain why not having something as simple as a way to designate farm team players is ridiculous, and put pressure on them to fix it in time for next season. I just finished writing them a long email myself, letting them know that if they did not add some form of farm team designation/management that I would be taking my league elsewhere. I've gotten replies to all my previous enquiries to customer care, so I know people are reading and responding to these things.....the more people that bring up this obvious and ridiculous short-coming, the greater chance there is that they actually do something about it, especially if people are threatening to leave Yahoo as a result.

fantrax lists pretty much all prospects so if you are in a deep keeper with large farms it really cant be beat.
not sure how deep cbs / yahoo's prospect database is these days but in the past it wasnt even close to what fantrax had.
yahoo/cbs have nicer looking websites but fantrax seems to be improving upon that as the years go by
