Default which goalie to pick up from an extremely shallow FA pool

i'm in a bad situation with Tim Thomas which became a backup to Letonen.

Now I need to pick up a goalie for the remainder of the season from a extremely shallow pool of available goalies.

which one of these am I better off with?

    - Ward
    - Neuvirth
    - Enroth
    - Stalock
    - Budaj
    - Joni Ortio
    - Elliot
    - Brodeur
    - Bryzgalov
    - Talbot
    - Hutton

I'm need to catch up some goalie games cause i'm in the negative, so right now, it's a toss between Ortio, Ward and Neuvirth...

    what are your thoughts?

Looking at that list, the only real option that would interest me would be Enroth. he plays for a terrible team but he has looked solid, even if his numbers dont say it.

Enroth and Ortio, only because they'll see plenty of starts.

I would also consider stalock. He seems to be stealing some starts and I believe he may become UFA if he doesn't get a certain number of them - I may be wrong tho?

So based on the responses I'm guessing people think Bryz has no chance of supplanting Kuemper, right?

I'm wondering because I have both Kuemper and Bryz. If people feel Bryz won't supplant him then maybe I should drop him for someone else.

My thoughts are that you'd hate my league if you view that as "extremely shallow". At least five of those guys are currently owned in my league.

And my pick would be Enroth/Ortio as well.

i think i'm favoring Ortio more than Enroth, Neuvirth might steal a few games away. Ortio seems to be the Flames' #1 goalie.

Then again, he's only played 2 games in the NHL...

    I'm screwed am I not?

Enroth/Neuvy combo would be very interesting! I wish I would have pounced on Enroth before Miller was traded. Both guys in Buffalo had 40+ saves in their last starts. Goalies like these are MONEY in my league.

well Letonen just got injured, and it looks pretty serious.

I guess i'll be hanging on to Thomas now...

he got headbutted, then his helmet came off, and he hit the back of his head on the crossbar. CONCUSSION.

With those goalie cats, I would be weary of any of these names listed here... -1 for a GA and -1 for a loss?
I agree that the win factor and saves will outweight losses and GA here and there, but most of these names play for teams out of contention or they are backups.

    Ex: Ortio; 10 gp, 200 saves, 25 GA, 3 W, 7 L, 0 SO = 26pts
    Ex: Stalock; 3 gp, 60 saves, 8 GA, 3W, 0 L, 0 SO = 22pts

Ok so these are just assumptions, but it kinda illustrates that a good backup on a good team may have similar stats in your format to those of a ''starter'' who plays more games but on a crappy team.

I would gamble with Bryzgalov here...
