Brodeur said he will go to a team where he will get more starts but doesn't have to be the starter.
Good thing because I can't think of too many teams where he'd be a starter.
Regardless, it would just be strange to see him in a uniform other than New Jersey.

I don't get this one bit. Why move from a team you've been with all your life for this? Its a tarnish IMO, no doubt. Time to hang em' up man.

Maybe he figures it's time for a change. Most people don't stay in one job with one company for that long. Maybe he's getting restless and wants to play another couple of years, and knows he can't do that in New Jersey anyways.

i think he should be able to end his career where ever he wants. he's at the top of the list as far as goalies concerned (yes there is some debate over this i know), but you get what i am saying. he thinks he can play, knows NJ has other plans for future, why not try to go somewhere he can finish up his career on his terms.

Modano, Sundin to name a couple. They left their teams to go have a crack at it and I think their legacy would be so much stronger had they stayed and retired with their original clubs. Marty has nothing left to prove and with a good investor has a boat load of money.

I just dont think Lou will trade him. Marty may want to go somewhere else so he can play a bit more but I just think Lou Lamarillo has more respect for Marty to trade him.

Have to agree with this..........NJ is going to retire his number and he will be a legend there forever. If he truly wants to go to a contender - then they should grant him his wish if a trade can be made.

If the Devils do happen to sneak into the playoffs (they are only 3 points out right now) they will need Marty.

Schneider is a very good goalie, but his playoff history is concerning. If the team makes the playoffs they have to have Marty around - in fact I could see Marty becoming the guy in the post season for them in the end.

So Sundin should have stayed with Quebec/Colorado?
