Default Big Johnny Tavares Trade, which option do you like?

Hey Guys, new here and looking for some advice....

In a close dogfight for top spot in our league (with a buddy who is also on this forum haha), 12 team Keeper, 12 Keepers per team, 26 players total.
    G/A/+ -/ppp/Pims/SOG/GWG/Hits

Since Tavares is out, I'm going to deal him as the race is on. I have two running options that have been haggled down to these:

    1. E Karlsson/A semin/1st pick (which is shaping up to possibly be 1st overall next season) for Tavares/J Williams/5th pick

    2. Stamko/Fowler/10th for Tavares/Nash/5th

I don't intend to keep any of the players aside from Stamkos/Karlsson as I'm happy with my keepers as is.

Which would you take? Leaning towards Stamkos...

    Thanks!

Stamkos one for sure. Karlsson as the centerpiece just doesnt cut it.

That is tough as Karlsson is the crosby of D man, but stamkos is definitely one of those players that I would gladly trade tavares if I could get my hands on him. I think either choice is a good deal. Wish I was getting offers like that in my league.

I hear ya Drake, there's alot to be said for the fact that JT is top 5 in the fwd ranks but Karlsson is the Undisputed top Dman, and those are rarer and harder to acquire. You're usually in great shape if your D-core are high end. This would give me Big Buff and Karlsson for established D plus Maatta and Hamilton for the future....not too shabby. Plus Semin down the stretch and an extra 1st next year, very tempting. Dobber chose this option!
I'm still leaning to Stamkos I think though, the fact that he's even available is almost to good to pass up.
Cheers and thanks for your input!

Karlsson would be a nice piece to add to a very solid lineup. Could you flip the pick + for a forward?

Hi Dangles, I've considered this as well...but honestly at this point I'm so content with my team of scoring bruisers (pims/hits league) that I'm not sure who I'd want to part with. Good thought though and one I'm going to give a little more consideration to before I pull any triggers.
    Cheers

I think I would rather have Karlsson, Semin and the 1st (And keep Rick Nash)!

Considered this too....basically I'm just so happy with my current mix that Nash would be dealt for a pick(s) in the offseason....don't wanna rock the boat right now because my recipe for success has been good so far haha
So it comes down to who do I like on my roster next year and the years following....for me that's Stammer. I'm hopeful the Drouin/Stammer duo comes to fruition sooner than later and is a force for years. I also don't like the way the Sens look this season compared with the Bolts, and Stevey Y will have that team winning more than losing as long as he's at the helm.

    Thanks for your take!

Stamkos is the only deal that makes sense IMO. You may actually be upgrading on your Tavares and Nash is so much a wild card...you never know what you may find with Fowler.

I LOVE Karlsson...but not enough to pay a Tavares for.

Are Lucic and Schenn really keepers over Nash though?

I'd go with the Stammer deal. He's one of the Big 4 (Stammer, Crosby, Malkin, and Ovechkin), and he can singlehandedly win you a league if he's on fire.

Can you get a better forward than Semin? He's injured, who knows how much he will play down the stretch. Can you negotiate that 10th a little lower? Or the 5th a little higher? As is, I don't think either deals are phenomenal, but I like the Stamkos one more
