I have a couple of options on a deal trading Shea Weber. I don't really have a chance to win this year, so I'm looking to next year. I own Seth Jones so I would rather move Weber to upgrade my forwards situation. The first offer is for a guy who should win this year if Jonathon Quick hadn't been hurt.

I should also note that my league has an interesting dynamic, where we have various 'side pots' (from trade and waiver costs) for winning certain categories. DEF is one of those categories, thus making Shea Weber quite valuable in my league

    Weber, Niemi, 2nd rd
    for
    Quick, Lucic, 3rd rd.

My 2nd pick should be a high pick, as it came from a contender, and the 3rd pick will be low as it will go to a definite top 3 (lottery for bottom 11, separate lottery for top-3 finishers for last 3 draft slots. With 10 rounds next year, already I will finish by round 4.

    Option 2 is

    Weber
    for
    Carter, Timonen

So I guess the question is, who would you rather own going forward? Niemi and Carter, or Quick and Lucic? My team is pretty really lacking a prime shooting forward in my keepers, but I do love the players that contribute across the board. Also I don't know how much of an upgrade Quick is to Niemi. And Timonen could garner some trade interest later on.

    Thanks for the help.

I like the outlook for Thomas and Dubnyk going forward. Can you drop Elliott and grab Dubnyk? Don't touch your skaters, your goalies are turning it around

I don't like those trades, either one. Quick isn't a huge upgrade on Niemi given the injuries, and Lucic is a downgrade from Weber. Picks are a downgrade too. Other option, Carter can't stay healthy so you're getting nothing for Weber there. Neither deal is close IMO. But if you want me to just answer your question then Carter and Niemi over Quick and Lucic unless the league counts hits.

    16 team league H2H 12F,6D,2G, 5BN

G,A,Pts, Shots, +/-, PIMs, PPP, SHP, GWG
    W,S%, GAA, SO

    Trade 1:

Oliver Ekman Larsson and Dustin Brown
    for
    Pekka Rinne and Alex Semin

Note: Needed a goalie in the worst way. The worst way. Willing to wait for Pekka.

    Trade 2:

Ryan Nugent-Hopkins- Valeri Nichushkin- Raphael Diaz - Low 2nd round prospect pick
    for
Drew Doughty- John Carlson- Francois Beauchemin- high 2nd round prospect pick.

I did this trade because my offense was already producing pretty well and I got James Neal back from IR. Needed to replace OEL and I thought Nichushkin for Carlson was a decent straight up deal. Wanted more for the Nuge but he wasn't biting on Doughty. Thoughts?

Looks like you paid a price in both deals, but it's not a keeper league and you filled needs very nicely, so you did well

Nice to see you on the boards more frequently Dobber. Forum change was overdue, it'll take some getting used to but should work out well in the end.

My team is in need of some tweaking (see sig). Heavy on C/RW, ravaged on G and weak on LW. Currently in 7th place but within 40 pts of 3rd. Any LW or G you would look to target? Some buy-low suggestions? I can't decide between a big name trade (Neal/Crawford based trade was discussed), or scale it down and buy low on a underperforming G.

You need Weber in a keeper. I would make him an untouchable. You have a nice crop of future stars up front, but your defense is weak (aside from Weber, Rielly and Jones). If you must move Weber then you should be targeting a proven forward with Top 20 scoring potential

Looking at the available player pool on the waiver wire, I would think that you would get absolutely nothing for Alfredsson. Don't bother shopping. I would drop Atkinson and try to focus on Hits - so Andrew Shaw will get you similar points and more hits. I would drop Del Zotto and go for Stanton for PIM and, surprisingly, points.

In a one-year I would also cut ties with Nichushkin and just stream a hot player into that spot every week.

Thanks for the kind words. Yeah, I think I posted 120 times in the last 36 hours haha (and that's including the site crash of 13 hours).

I would target Cam Ward. Carolina is a second half team. I would also target Steve Mason as PHI is turning it around and have only played 22 games. And finally, another cheap G to target is Varlamov - sure, he's hot, but he's also got some panicky owners looking to bail on him and Colorado has played only 22 games. Do not trade Neal now, he's back to being a superstar. In fact, with him and Pacioretty finding their game, your LW will probably be okay.

G is taking up too much of your bench, so when you acquire one of my suggestions above, trade two goalies to get him.

In a league with G, A, P, +/-, PIM, PPG, PPA, SHP, GWG, SOG, FW, HIT, BLK what is the fair price for Stamkos?
I offered Vermette (best in league in FW, moreover - as LW) + Yandle (not as good in PIM, Hit, Blk and I took him on waivers, hmm) = Stamkos, counterpart agreed, but trade was blocked by commish and other managers.
Should I play in this league?
What about this variant: M.Koivu + Bozak + Dillon (very good in PIM, Hit, Blk) = Turris + Stamkos?
Also: which variant is better for me?
    Thanks for your work, man!
