Crosby Trade

Guys, I'm "up in arms" about a potential deal. I'm currently in first place with the dynasty team in my sig below and I now have a dilemma. The Crosby owner is deciding to sell him off to help build his team for the future. Being in first place, I am hesitant to make a move, but we are talking the best player in the world here. So, would you all help point me into the right direction?

Here's what I'm thinking about offering (that's "if" I decide to make an offer):

Carey Price + JVR + Jamie Benn

for

Sidney Crosby + Jeff Carter + Ben Scrivens

Would that be a fair offer, or is that too much? Would it be even worth making an offer, being that my team is already in 1st place?

Any help would be sincerely appreciated.

That's a solid offer. I am assuming that goalies are fairly valuable in your league?

I might try to build an offer around Kane tater than Price. His perceived value might be higher than Price and so you would get away with worse complimentary pieces than Benn and JVR.

Maybe something like Kane, pavelski , Gibson and a pick?

EDIT: if he's in rebuild he might be very interested in Tarasenko (maybe instead of Pavelski)

The other owner is a huge Hab's homer and he sent me a list of players he was interested in for this deal to be possible: Price, Perry, JVR, and Benn. I know he wants the deal built around Price, and yes, goalies are HUGE in this type of format. I'm still not sure if I should go through with it.

I think that is a solid offer. There is a slight gamble with Scrivens, but if he emerges as the starter that Edmonton has been hoping then you're laughing at the end of this deal. Even after getting the best player in the game currently.

The Scrivens part of the trade is what I'm worried about most. Crosby + Carter part is fine.. the only other goalies he owns are Ward/Khudobin.. and we can only keep 2 goalies at the end of every season..

Given he's a huge Habs fan and goalies are at a premium, I might play hardball and lower your offer to Price straight up or only add one of JVR/Benn for Crosby and scrivens.

He is in desperate need of a goalie and I highly doubt he could get a better goalie than Price back in a trade. Benn/JVR is ultimately replaceable. I'd rather trade JVR but that's preference. Scrivens is a decent gamble here and is better than the ward/Khudobin quagmire in Carolina.

Khudobin is a better goalie right now then Scrivens, but unlike Scrivens, Khudobin has to deal with the Golden Boy Ward while Scrivens only has Bryzgalov to deal with. Which isn't much of a challenge.

Perhaps what you could do is since you are giving an elite goalie, and getting back a so-so goalie in return perhaps downgrade one of the wingers (Benn or JVR) to a lesser player he might like and help in a rebuild (Tarasenko?) You are still giving him 2 players he was asking for so perhaps he would take a lesser player rather then you giving up two very nice wingers. Still its not often you can get a hold of Crosby.

This is Crosby, the trade shouldn't be affected by Scrivens. It is more than a reasonable offer, Carter and JVR are close so it is basically Price and Benn for Crosby. That seems like a pretty good deal to me. Worry about getting a better 2nd goalie to go with Niemi after getting Crosby.

I like that deal, in a keeper/dynasty Sid can cost all of those guys on his own, the fact you got some high quality players in return to boot is icing.

Wow, great deal for Crosby. Good job getting some of those pieces back, especially Suter and the CAR goalies for Faulk and Gibson (who will be good but is buried in Anaheim).

It sounds to me like this is just an offer you sent? Did you actually manage to complete the deal? If you did, man that's a massive steal.

If I were the Crosby owner, I would turn that down pretty quickly. If you break it down, it really isn't close in my opinion.

Crosby >>>> Benn
Carter = JVR
Suter >> Faulk
Ward/Khudobin << Price/Gibson

To me you're not giving him nearly enough of an upgrade to give up the best player in the game AND you're getting a better defensemen back. If it works out, that is a fantastic trade for you, but for me to consider it, I would remove Carter, Suter and Faulk. Then I'd consider it, but nothing less then that below.
