I just let Tavares go as a RFA to get the probable first 2015 pick. If it's McDavid, I think I will be a big winner. If I don't get the first pick.... I don't know. does anyone know if the 2015 top 3 will be a strong or average one ?

Even if you will have the 1st overall, nobody knows McDavid will ever become as good as Tavares already is. You should have just signed one of the best hockey players on this planet.

2015 seems to be a very solid draft. But I can't find a reason to let go a player like Tavares.

The top 5 in 2015 will be something like Mcdavid/Eichel/Hanifin (D)/Barzal/Pilon (D) which are all supremely excellent talents but I have no clue why anyone would let go of Tavares to get any of them. Tavares is arguably the second best player in the world right now. This is crazyness!!!! No offense. This is a joke right?????

I think I must explain. It is not really a keeper league. I don't know the kind of league it is but we offer contract to players. So, The guy offer 9.2M for Tavares and 2 first round pick and a 2 round pick. The fact is that Crosby, Malkin, Neal, Stamkos, Giroux and plenty more are UFA this year. So, for 10-11M, (1 or 2M more), I will have a top player AND the pics... This is the reason why I gamble and take the pics. At worst, I will have a third pick and a very good player, at best, Crosby and McDavid. Was it a very bad moove knoing that ???

Assuming you can use that money (that you saved in letting JT go) as you think you can (to get Crosby, Malkin, or Stamkos), I think you're okay here. How long can you sign guys for?

I can sign for 5 years... same thing for Tavares. Crosby will go out for 12M and two others for 11M probably. I'm not sure I'll have those guys... But there is also Kane, Neal and Giroux... I'll loose a bit in points... but I get two first round pick... and one will probably 1st or second overall...
