Please evaluate this trade for me
Hey guys,
Just pulled the trigger on this trade, but need some reassurance it was a good deal for me as everyone thinks I am insane.
One year league, pts only
I receive Hossa & Tavares
I give M. Koivu & Vrbata
How I justified it to myself. I know Tavares is out, so he will be on my IR
I had Koivu coming off IR by end of the week by the sounds of it. So, as you can see my roster in my signature (not updated with this trade yet)
I was gonna drop either Turris or Vrbata (likely turris due to C status) to make room for Koivu
So I see this as a 2 for 1 deal for me. I initially offered Turris & Vrbata, and he countered with Koivu & Vrbata.
I see Koivu & Turris fairly equal for remainder of season, Turris with slight edge due to Koivu's injury may take him time to come back to full speed.
So now I upgraded Vrbata to Hossa which is pretty big IMO
and I replaced my IR with Tavares
That way I don't lose a roster spot/move (got 2 left for the year)
If I gain another injury I can always drop Tavares at that point or evaluate at that time.
SO BIG QUESTION IS
Am I crazy for doing this, or was this a smart 2 for 1 deal for me?
I am in 5th out of 6, 16pts out of 1st place

yeah like the gents before me said, I'd have done it for Hossa alone and even though you likely won't get any use out of Tavares if he does make it back early then that's an even bigger plus for you.

all of a sudden this trade isnot looking so good
Hossa is hurt, and Koivu is back...
our entire league is spread out by 20 points, so there I no room for error..
This is gonna come down to the wire... Gotta wait till deadline hascome and gone before I can make a move since I only got 2 left...
