Datsyuk for Byfuglien

Team and league stats in sig. Currently in tie for first place, team pushing for a win this year. I've been offered Buffy for Datsyuk

Datsyuk - 37GP, 15G, 18A, -4, 6 PIM, 11 PPP, 0 SHP, 2 GWG, 108 SOG, 26 Hits, 21 BLKs = 123.6 FP, 3.3 FP/g
Byfuglien - 60GP, 14G, 29A, -17, 62 PIM, 20 PPP, 0 SHP, 1 GWG, 205 SOG, 158 Hits, 76 BLKs = 207.5 FP, 3.5 FP/g

seems like a no-brainer at first, but Datsyuk was a champ at the Olympics and I really want to push for the win. Keeper value is secondary for me at this point.

Buff would be my pick, what he can produce points wise from one of your D slots is pretty hard to match.

I'd probably make this move, too. Provided you can find an adequate replacement for Datsyuk off waivers, I'd do it. It's important to consider, however, that when trading a forward for defenseman, it's not just a 1-for-1; you have to consider the Dman you'll likely be dropping (how much of an upgrade Buff is over that guy), and consider the forward you'll likely be adding in his stead to replace Datsyuk.

It's not so simple as just saying Byfuglien > Datsyuk.

As it is, I'm running with 4D for 5 slots, so I wouldn't be dropping a Dman. Additionally, I'm gonna have to drop 2 of Silfverberg, Toffoli, Atkinson to take Grabovski and Bonino (could also drop Grabo, Bonino's production is a cut above those guys) off of IR. Really Buff would be the guy that would replace Datsyuk, it wouldn't come from waivers.

I own Datsyuk, if I was offered Buff for him I would accept. You are also pretty deep at C and Buff would arguably be your #1 dman so it's a good move for your team as a whole.

Thanks man. In that regard, I'm attempting to make a 2 for 1 or a 3 for 1 to upgrade so I don't have to make the decision, this just kinda came out of those negotiations on a random aside comment.

I'm a huge Datsyuk fan and less of a Byfuglien fan...but in your league, in your situation, I'd deal my Dats for Buff in a heartbeat.

Agree with the rest;get Buff. Your C depth can handle the loss of Dasyuk and Buff is a big upgrade at D
