    Default NYR trade rumor

FWIW Boomer Esiason tweeted the following-

Its coming and it will be huge. Surprising, shocking, inevitable, and all about business. $$$ #NHL #tradedeadline

And then added that the trade is to an Eastern conference team and it's probably mostly a one- for- one deal with perhaps a draft pick included.
Speculation is that it's Callahan leaving the NYR, with a gritty player with "enough" pts coming back an Ranger fans initially won't like the deal.
Apparently Esiason was the first to tweet the Del Zotto/Klein trade.

Heard that too but that's just speculation. I have no idea if that twitter account is even Esiason but enough people are taking it seriously. Apparently the player coming back is a past all star. Lots of speculation.
The next couple of weeks are going to be fun.

That would be a good trade for NYR. Let Callahan be someone else's David Clarkson.

Keeping Girardi over Callahn is definitely the right move.

Everything he tweeted does hint at st louis except for the fact that he said the player is like dan carcillo. So I dont know what to believe really.

I can't see why TB would do that. It doesn't make them a better team and while Callahan is younger he sure isn't worth the money he's asking. Why would they saddle themselves with that kind of contract? Or, if TB does not sign him, why give up MSL for a rental?

Callahan and Clarkson don't even belong in the same sentence

Callahan is worth a lot because he is the exact kind of leader everyone is looking for. If marty is traded it would be because he asked for it most likely.

$7M long term is a lot to hand over for leadership, especially for a guy who plays a style of game that will limit him to 70-ish games per year. If MSL wants out, presumably he'd want to go to a contender. I see TB's chances as good as or better than the Rangers.

Well it he wanted out because of the Olympic snub then New York is a great city to go to and he gets to play with Richqrds again, and with Lundqvist

MSL might still be good but Richards is far from being so

MSL isn't the type of person that struck me as the go where your friends are rather than win a cup

maybe he wants out of TB but there are much better choices than NYR to try for a cup

    yes same guy

as was pointed out he was the one who had the MDZ for Klein trade before anyone else and i believe he also had the Rangers grabbing Avery on reentry prior to Dallas even recalling him

there have to be better things for him to do than spend his Sat tweeting speculation so i think that there might be something to what he is talking about
