Default (REP) trade kopitar and eberle?

i've been approached by GM wanting kopitar and eberle off my team 1, and i'm debating whether or not i should go through with it given their current "below-intrinsic" production this year and whether the players i get back would be worth it.

    his team:
F - benn, wheeler, saad, tarasenko, nichushkin, hodgson, hertl, moulson, coyle, arcobello, niederreiter, grigorenko, raffl, grigorenko, strome, forsberg, DSP, teravainen and gaborik

i'm thinking of asking for wheeler, saad, tarasenko so that i can round up my keeper 7 with the those three, MSL, staal, backstrom. my main concern is 1) winning this year (his team is at the bottom and i'm in 2nd place), 2) lowering my cap hit on a net basis (the combined pool salary of players coming to me is 4.3M and going to him its 8.4M - our salary system is not based on actual nhl salaries).

should i go through with it?
    15-Team keep 6f, 3d, 1g pts-only, wins=2, SO=3, OTL=1
F: Robertson, Thompson, DeBrincat, McCann, Tomasino, Chytil, Brink, Carlsson, Berggren, Guenther
D: Morrissey, Montour, Jiricek, Perbix, LaCombe, Perunovich
G: Talbot, Kuemper, Merzlikins, Kochetkov, Copley

I wouldn't do that deal. It bumps a solid forward like Pominville out. It's a big gamble that Tarasenko will produce at Kopitars rate in the near future. Ebs and Wheeler are probably close in pts only.

even given what i said about salaries? pominville is another odd one out, his salary numer is 5.8M (for reference, i have kopitar at 6.2 and eberle at 2.4, so he's far from the valaue he should be)

I'm with Colts except I'm swapping Tarasenko with Nichushkin.

Either way I don't see that scenario happening so:

Eberle/ Kopitar > Wheeler, Saad, Tarasenko.

BTW are you in a league where your salary cap if the NHL salary cap increases? If so, Kopitar's cap hit will be a lot more digestible for the next couple of years.

no it's actually inverse - we have an hard cap of 60M that never increases and player salaries keep increasing by about 10-15% each year, which complicates things...

ok. I understand your predicament a little better. I'd still keep Eberle at 2.4. That's good value for his upside. I'd try trading Kopitar for Wheeler+.
