    Default Rinne: Sell Sell Sell!!!

Uh-oh. Rinne out 6-8 weeks minimum. E coli in hip, major antibiotics needed.

I have been advocating everyone trade him away immediately, hope you have been listening.

Is Carter Hutton worth the pickup?

I have 4 goalies already, but it's a 14 Team league, and there's a few teams in dire need of goalies. If Hutton is serviceable it just allows me more flexibility in my trade talks, if I don't need to ask for one of their goalies in return.

Since this new revelation is really just another drip towards Rinne being out for season, I'm thinking Hutton might be worth adding short-term, to see if he plays decently the next few weeks and holds off Hellberg.

Also, disturbing news on Nash in this report, out months, not weeks. Worth watching.

Yes, indeed. Time to start thinking of a major deal to bring someone in for long-term help, I think. This has the whiff of "out for season, but we don't want to admit it" from the Nashville organization.

any serious joint infection requires at least 6 weeks antibiotics as I posted a few days ago... so that's the BARE minimum

It's a surgical emergency as a result, so I'd be concerned not only that he's out a while (minimum 6 weeks antibiotics) but that it could affect him significantly long term if they didn't catch the infection early enough.

Doesn't matter if the surgical repair (likely labrum) was intact if the rest of the joint is eroded - which they won't tell us.

Just over two yrs ago I drafted Rinne and Bryz in a full keeper, proud as can be. 'Whatever happens at least I have my goalies locked up for yeaaaaars to come!' .... I remember thinking at the time....

I didn't watch the link, because I'm at school, but I'm pretty sure you can't get an E coli infection in your hip. It's an enterobacteria, meaning it lives in the digestive system.

Also, aside from a moderate adjustment to the time frame, is there any new info here?

My thinking here is that if you're in a one year league by all means sell. Rinne isn't likely to be lights out even if he returns on time. In a keeper you'd be selling big time low though. If you feel strongly about trading him why not wait till he's back playing so you can get better value coming back? Prior to this season he was (and probably still should be) considered a top 10 goalie.

    OH GAWD...same night mare.

Dumped Bryz in the off season after 2 years of crap...traded away Halak last year too, to ring in Rinne.

Then Got Crawford for Anderson...when I could have got Crawford for Rinne.

Now I have Crawford.......Rinne/Hutton, Pavelec, Ramo.

    Could have

Crawford, Anderson, Pavelec(who I likely could turn into Lehner).

You can get e.coli (or any bacterial infection) anywhere. It can spread thru the bloodstream, or nearby structures.

Your digestive track exits the body right beside your hip/groin area.

    So what to do then:

Keeper league that allows us to have a max of 3 goalies on our roster. I have Rinne, Raska and Holtby. We have daily transactions, 2 goalies start, max 7 games played a week for goalies. If Holtby and Rask play all their teams games and they match every game, I still get 6 of my 7 goalie starts each week.

Do I drop Rinne to pick up Hutton or do I ride it out and take whatever starts I get from Rask and Holtby (assuming they stay healthy)?
