Stamkos - Semi-Urgent
The former owner of Lehtonen in the league in my signature just dropped him (I'm not exactly sure why). He will be on waivers for 48 hours. I am 100% set on my goalies, but I do see an opening. There is a team with seriously struggling goalies (Backstrom, Miller, Schneider) and limited depth at forward. He very well may go after Lehtonen while we talk, but I'm trying to keep him from doing so. We have begun working on a trade which would involve me sending Price, Kunitz, and Yakupov for Stamkos.
I think this might be an overpayment, but I will only pull the trigger if Lehtonen clears waivers and I can grab him to replace Price.
Any thoughts on this deal?

Personally, I'd do that the deal for Stamkos even if I didn't have a replacement option for Price. Quick and Niemi is still killer. Wouldn't recommend basing this decision on whether or not you get Kari Lehtonen. I mean, it's an 8 team league...has to be some decent replacement goaltenders. Adding Stamkos would be huge for you.
I wouldn't blink. Price typically starts well and progressively declines. You generally need to trade him well before Christmas to get max value. Your league is too shallow to require too much depth, as the previous comment suggested, you can supplement well from our waivers I'm sure.

How many do you keep at year's end? I see this as a trigger pull regardless. Given the three goalies you have, on most nights one is rotting on your bench anyways and you aren't getting enough starts out of him. Even if you were able to grab a back up tender you'd be better off in my opinion. Having Ovechkin/Tavares/Stamkos on the same h2h weekly is a huge advantage. Usually guys like tht move unless a big name is moving back as well.
As others have said given it's an 8 team league you'll always be able to make up for the losing Price.

Thanks everyone for the responses. Outside of Lehtonen, the other legit starting goalies on the wire are Harding and Dubnyk. Pavelec will likely come on the wire once Rinne returns from IR (he's an IR replacement at the moment). I definitely think I want to pull the trigger, I'm just a bit nervous based on last year when I had a great set of forwards but my goalies crapped out in the finals. Still working on the deal, but I'll continue to take thoughts.
