Aladeen news first please, then the Aladeen news, nobody likes starting with the Aladeen news first.

I have a hunch that Anders*n will get the win tonight.
I can't promise I'll try but I'll try to try.

I read that F.Anderson signed a 2 year 1 way. How can they send him down without going through waivers?

Does this mean that Hiller is 100% for sure trade bait either in the next 4-6 weeks due to injuries or at the deadline?

The one-way contract kicks in next year. He can be sent down this year without going through waivers.

So either Fasth gets traded of Hiller signs elsewhere...

Waiver eligibility has nothing to do with the contract being one-way or two-way. It has to do with when the first contract was signed and how many games the player has played.

Can't really say, didn't pay attention. But he had an easy workload last night at least.

Not sure what his upside is given that he was just let go by his first drafted team.

Actually Carolina did try to sign him but it was Andersen who decided not to sign with them and re-enter the draft instead.

“We tried to sign Frederik to a contract, and made him aware that we felt there was an opportunity here for him to earn one of our two NHL spots during training camp,” said Rutherford. “We are very disappointed that he chose not to join our organization. Prior to him changing his agent, we had every indication that he was very interested in being a part of the Carolina Hurricanes.”

It was pretty big deal for the organisation back then since they even released an official statement about it and stressed to their fans that they tried their best to sign him.

Oh yeah, I forgot about that.

Jokes on him I guess because he might be Carolina's starter right now.

Yeah that very curious decision by Andersen back then since there was pretty clear path to backup role in Carolina. With the injuries to Ward last season and this year, he'd most likely have a lot more NHL games by now had he signed with them.

But I doubt he feels too bad about his decision with the new two-year one-way deal in his pocket.

Carolina had a clearer path to #2 but Anaheim has a history of turning over the #1 job to a new guy. Next year it could be Fasth/Andersen in their crease with Hiller gone.

True. Ward is a franchise goalie and as good as Hiller (or Fasth) are, they aren't franchise goalies for Anaheim. Then again Andersen probably had no guarantees who was going to draft him so by not signing with Carolina, he didn't have control of his new team. He might have ended up in exactly the same situation or worse than he would have had in Carolina (e.g. if NYR or LAK or BOS or VAN had drafted him). So it was a risk and right now it seems to have paid off for him despite what the situation might have been for in Carolina so far.
