I'd drop a fwd...maybe vrbata...he's a bit streak and not a multi-cat
Now Ward is our for 3-4 weeks, and Fasth is still out for I'm not sure how long. All I have left is Hiller who has been stinking it up in his last few outings.
Should I pick up any of these? And who would I drop? I'm not sure if I would want to risk dropping one of the goalies in case someone takes them and I'm left without any good options for the rest of the season... So I'd probably have to drop a forward
Steve Mason
Giguere (probably wouldn't get too many starts with him)
Dubnyk
MacDonald
Gustavsson (again, probably not too many starts)
Markstrom
Khudobin (due back next week and will probably get most Carolina starts with Ward out)

I feel your pain, Carlito. I'm in a very similar situation but with even slimmer pickings available. You definitely need to add a goaltender and the pickings are bare...three questions for first of all.
1) Is there a transactions limit in your league? If yes, how many and how many have you used.
2) What are the minimum goalie appearances for your league?
3) Do roster changes(adds, drops etc) go in effect on the same day, or not until the next day?
Let me know.
Appreciate all input, thanks guys
To answer your questions...
1) 7 transactions per 1 week matchup, unlimited over the season
2) I need minimum 3 goalie starts per week for GAA and SV% to count
3) Same day I believe for picking up free agents

Should also note that Reimer is available as well. Forgot to mention him, but he should be back to playing tonight or tomorrow

I would drop Vlasic and roll with 4D.
I like Steve Mason... no, not kidding.
Hm... Drop a D, any particular reason to hold 4D in a 5D roster? Just because they generally don't produce as much a forwards, well at least the D-men that I have?
So far Vlasic seems like a better version of Campbell in all of my cats except for ATOI and they are tied for STP. But I guess Campbell is just much better and should start doing more? Or is it that Vlasic is just on a point scoring streak? Bogo is doing the exact opposite of them - not much in the way of points but getting lots of SOG and HIT
Decisions, decisions lol. Wondering if I should drop Ward for a week or two and use that roster spot, then pick him up with time still left for his injury. Doubt anyone would take him with 2 weeks left of him sitting around, but not sure if that's a risk I should take
And yea Mason's been pretty good. He's doing his job, his team isn't... So he's just losing out on wins. Another option is to trade in and out on a day to day basis. Like take Mason one day, then maybe drop him for Giguere if he's playing one day, etc.
As you can see I'm just confusing myself right now so hopefully I'll get some clarity soon

Personally I'd drop Vrbata and pick up Mason. Perhaps Hartnell's return to the lineup will add a small spark to the Flyer's offfense.
Your drop is between Vrbata and Oshie. I'd drop both.
I'd then add Khudobin and stash him on my IR. He'll be back next week and as long as he's healthy he will be the starter in Carolina until Ward returns. A real opportunity to show he can be a starter...he has the talent.
With Oshie and Vrbata dropped and Khudobin on the IR, I'd pickup Reimer and Mason. Makes your goaltenders Hiller, Reimer and Mason with Fasth, Ward and Khubobin on IR.
Hope this helps.

I'd grab Mason - he's been solid and the Ws will come. I would not drop Vrbata. He shoots a ton and gets his share of points. There is no PIM in your league and that is typically his worst cat.
Vlasic or Bozak would be my drop.
Bozak seems like the obvious drop here. Aside from a bit of puck luck on his measly 12 shots, he's been pretty brutal despite having red hot linemates. Demotion seems possible eventually, and Vrbata is a much more proven scorer, takes a lot more shots, and is an integral part of PP1 whereas Bozak is replaceable. I'd grab Mason.
Thanks everyone. Consensus seems to be to pick up Mason. As for who to drop I've gotten a few different opinions! So I'll have to look into it a bit. Honestly I don't think I'd drop Vrbata though. At this point Bozak or Oshie would probably be my picks
The Hockey Hitman - If I did go ahead with your recommendation of getting Mason and Reimer, would you keep Fasth dropped then, or pick him back up after he's off IR and drop one of the others? Just wodering if there's value in having both Ana goalies since they'll likely split the starts

I'd leave Fasth on the free agent list and simply monitor the Ducks goaltending situation closely. Hiller being in a contract season, you can expect him to receive the majority of starts. The moment Hiller gets injured, if Fasth is healthy you want to make another move.
