Thanks for the great responses. And glad to see Barber back in the lineup with an assist to boot. Some very good (but conflicting) advice on who I should drop, should it come to that. None of these guys (Barber / Kamenev / Devin Shore / Walman) strikes me as being a blue chip prospect, but I picked each of them up as I like their chances for various reasons - hard to choose from them. Maybe I'll keep all of them and just drop David Savard which would also free up some cap room!

Would that be a good idea considering where you are in terms of contending?
Giving up talent in the NHL is tough to advise if you are anywhere close to a championship. Even if you weren't I would probably still keep Savard over Barber or Shore.

is he just not that good of a prospect or are there too many players ahead of him in the depth chart, lack of opportunity?

I think he's decent. Not a stud but can play a solid middle 6 role down the road. I think there are better options for the Caps to use in place of him as well as too many NHL players on their roster.

Was super disappointed to see that the Dobber guide gives him basically no chance to make the team (at least to start the season) so he may be a dropsy for me, depending on who is avaialable on the waiver wire

I don't think his chances of making the team are zero. At this point, I would say that Connolly, Galiev, Vrana and Barber are competing for one spot in the lineup. The fact that Barber and Vrana are waivers exempt hurt their chances somewhat.

I have him in one pool and would definitely be okay with that.
Though I agree with the consensus that there just isn't space for him now.

Barry Trotz expects Riley Barber to make his NHL debut next season.

That does not say that they expect Barber to make the team out of camp but it does say that Trotz is pretty high on Barber.

I don't think anyone disagrees he has a cup of coffee as injuries wil hit at some point - just don't think he stays up
