    Default Viktor Fasth

    Fasth Injured

Viktor Fasth has lower-body injury so Frederik Andersen is being recalled and will back up tonight. Fasth is day to day.
We get one of these - Don't waste it.

Viktor Fasth (lower body) won't be available for Sunday against Dallas. Didn't skate today. So go ahead and make Jonas Hiller your starter.

Any updates? Only allowed 16 moves on the season. Should I spend one on Fred Anderssen since he shut the door after Hiller stunk it up tonight?

Fasth is not out for long. Andersen will be sent down very soon. And Hiller did not stink tonight. Dallas got lucky with their goals. Hiller did not need to be pulled but I guess you can't argue with the decision as the Ducks won.
I can't promise I'll try but I'll try to try.

Still no word on exactly how long he will be out. I'm hoping long enough that the Ducks start Andersen one more game - I'm really excited about him right now. But he won't do much this year - he's for the future.
I can't promise I'll try but I'll try to try.

I wouldn't waste a roster move on Andersson. All of Anaheim had a pretty terrible first period. Andersson won't get much run, and putting Fasth on IR was more likely just a paper move.

Viktor Fasth (lower body) jumped on the ice late in skate but Frederik Andersen was part of main group so guessing he'll back up Hiller.
Sounds like he is close to returning.

Looks like the Ducks have a good problem in net. Andersen has been solid.

No kidding. And they've got Gibson too.

Anaheim is one of the worst teams for disclosing details about injuries. Right now Fasth is on IR with a knee injury. I don't know when he'll be back but it certainly doesn't look like the Ducks need him now.

And I (like many other fantasy GMs) can't wait for one of Hiller/Fasth to get traded. I've got all three Anaheim goalies right now and in weekly starts, I'm not a happy camper. Chose to start Hiller this week and what do you know, with the game Andersen played tonight, he'll probably get at least one more start. And he's been better than Hiller. Damn the Ducks and their backups

IF I could land all 3 (Hiller/Andersen/Fasth) in my roto league, daily starts, and in doing so, rid myself of the Injury cloud over Rinne's head...(Team in Sig)...would you recomment? I understand the frustration for weekly starts but I'm wondering if maybe, just maybe, this is the savy move I could make to salvage value from Rinne.

Rinne/Hutton for Hiller/Andersen. Then try and move a healthy but under peforming #1 in Pavelec for injured time share Fasth.

    Thus leaving me with

Crawford, Hiller/Andersen/Fasth and Likely Berra for the rest of thes season (I was in first, then 2nd...now 3rd...slowly seeing my season slip away).

Seeing as you have all 3, and I just thought of this a bit before reading your thread...thoughts?

Rinne is the best goalie in this deal but obviously he's not very useful right now. You won't get optimum value trading him now, although I don't know what the long-term effects on his game will be from this infection. Andersen will be sent down once Fasth is ready, which could be as early as this weekend. The reason I have all three is that my other starter in Nabokov and I don't expect him to be any good after this year(or even this year) so I need a long-term solution to my goaltending. In our league, there are 18 teams and we start 2 goalies weekly so starting goalies are hard to come by. I'm hoping both Hiller and Fasth/Andersen are quality starters next year.

Now you'll be giving up long-term best asset in Rinne for improving your tenders now. Given that Crawford is your other goalie, I don't think it's such a bad deal. Gives you a chance to compete now and the long-term outlook is promising too.

Incidentally, I picked up Berra off waivers too but I'm not sure what to make of him yet. Wait-and-see mode.
I can't promise I'll try but I'll try to try.

    VIA RotoWire:
Fasth (lower body) is expected to practice in full Saturday.
Spin: Coach Bruce Boudreau confirmed the news after the goaltender was able to skate again without incident Friday morning. With Fasth seemingly on track to return next week, the Ducks will more likely have to make the tough choice to demote Frederik Andersen to the AHL despite his excellent play in place of Fasth.
