O'Reilly/Luongo for my guys

League in sig. I drafted almost horribly. Didn't do my homework and I'm paying the price.... Except Bernier has been the MAN! He's keepin me in it to start the season.

Anyway, we keep 10+2 rookies each year. Keepers right now are probably:

Kopitar, Mackinnon, Kunitz, Pacioretty, Malkin, Wheeler?, Karlsson, Holtby?, Bishop?, Bernier?

After this trade I guess I'd have to drop one of those goalies for Luongo and then figure out a way to keep O'Reilly. Might be tough.

My 3rd LW spot isn't anything special with Filppula. Trading Johnson would mean I'd have to play Dillon or Bogosian each week.

SO - would you trade Jack Johnson and Bernier for O'Reilly and Luongo? How can I possibly keep O'Reilly next year?

I assume you are looking to compete for the title this year. If thats the case I do this deal.

Bernier is off to a great start but there is no guarantee he can be a number 1 goalie; though if he can he's young and on a solid Leafs team. Luongo is a proven commodity and the surefire #1 for a few more seasons.

Oreilly is a fringe keeper on your team, competing for the 10th spot, which makes him an updgrade over Johnson and Fillpula.

I could be wrong, but when I look at your roster, you seem to have a team that is in a great position to re-tool, but perhaps not compete to win it all right now.

And if I have that part right, I'm not sure I like this trade.

I'd rather keep the pieces you have.

I'm not a big fan of Vancouver in general, or Loungo in particular. I think Bernier has the potential to be just as good, fantasy wise.

I'm not sure O'Reilly is a keeper next year, so I just don't see what's in this for you.

I suppose if you see Loungo as a huge upgrade, it makes sense.

I just don't see it that way, personally.
