how long before we hear he is shut down for the year? seemed to work for Crosby..
The last thing I read was that it's unlikely we'll see Nash before US Thanksgiving; the article mentioned that he is still experiencing symptoms (i.e., headaches).

So... anyone worried his season might be over yet?
Not sure about the entire season yet, but what I saw today makes me think he wont be playing again in 2013. They were saying months, not weeks before his return.

Thanks for the article, Doug.
I am definitely getting concerned - I am in it to win it this year. It's getting to be panic time where I consider shopping him for a half-decent replacement in case he doesn't end up returning this season...
"Daren Millard @darenmillard
Hearing good things regarding rick nash. @ the practice facility, skated. Not day to day but is week to week. Good sign.
3:51 PM - 5 Nov 2013"
Tweeted afterward he "trusts the source" -- but there have been conflicting reports (some saying no progress made).

Has anyone else heard anything good on Rick Nash's condition?

Stamkos, Toews, Duchesne, Benn, Simmonds, Burns, Read, Atkinson, Dubinsky, Boedker
Interesting. That totally contradicts the Sportsnet.ca report I posted yesterday. That's why I hate these media jackals. You can never trust the veracity of their reports from one day to the next. This bears watching over the next few days to see which direction things start to lean. Crosby was skating for months before he came back from the last concussion so who knows if this is a big step forward or a baby step.
Another vote for the "good news":
I didn't see NHL Tonight personally, so I just took one of the many tweets going around saying he said that on the show.@NYRFAN218 2h
Darren Dreger on NHL Tonight just said Rick Nash HAS been skating on his own. He's not close yet but he is working hard at getting back.
Skating on own > not skating at all and sitting in dark quiet room waiting for headaches to go away
There is hope!!.....
11:52AM: At ESPN NY, Katie Strang writes that she can confirm that Nash has done some “intermittent physical activity” at the Rangers training center and “continues to do so.”
She adds that Kutcher is the team’s preferred neurologist and that his meeting with Nash wasn’t recent.
7:02AM: According to Larry Brooks in the NY Post, Rick Nash has been skating periodically on his own at the Rangers training center but is still expected to be out for an indefinite period of time.
He says that even while Nash has been skating occasionally there is no “expectation of an imminent return” from his concussion.
Brooks also confirms that Nash has met with Michigan based concussion expert Dr. Jeffrey Scott Kutcher. He adds that the absolute best case scenario could see Nash return in 2-3 weeks.

Nash (concussion) was on the ice earlier in the morning with a few teammates but is not on the ice for the regular skate with the full team, Andrew Gross of the Bergen Record reports.
Spin: It's being taken as a good sign and a definite step in the right direction considering the length of time he has been out with a concussion. Nash was actually eligible to be activated off injured reserve Thursday, but he's just not ready yet. When asked about his star forward, GM Glen Sather said, "He's on the road to recovery, he's skating...but he's got a ways to go with his conditioning". A return sounds like it's coming sooner than later but he still seems to be at least another week or so off.
