Damn, one of the Canucks beat writers did say that they noticed Burrows walking out of the dressing room with a very noticeable limp. Was hoping it wasn't too serious. Shucks.

Any thoughts on top line in the meantime? And will Kassian get a shot there when he's back?

Last game Booth was skating with the Sedins on a decent number of shifts. Could see Hansen getting looks up there as well.

Well thankfully I had him benched in my weekly lineup league. Love it if they put him onto IR so it gives me some rooom to move.

Only thing I've seen is that he is out for a couple weeks. Nothing serious.

How can a guy not be on the IR four days after it's announced that he'll be out for "a couple of weeks"? What are they waiting for?

They can wait till he's closer to returning to IR him and reclaim the cap hit for the games he missed. The only reason to IR him right away is to free up a roster spot for a call-up.

    Default Burrows

    According to Rotoworld:

"Alex Burrows (foot) is slated to participate in a full practice with the Canucks on Thursday."

Any further news on a timeline for his return?

As DobberHockey's cap expert, you should learn the IR rules

There's no reclaiming the cap hit for the games he missed. Players on IR count fully against the cap. There is no relief. LTIR is a different beast but even then the player fully counts against the cap and they can't save any cap space for future use by retroactively putting the player on LTIR.

Just to clarify I am a CAP LEAGUE expert (ie winning cap leagues - I practice what I preach ) and not an expert of the NHL salary cap. Lawyer BS would make me go insane.
