Default Top LW prospects not in the NHL...

or not slated to start on top two lines?

    Hey all,

Been away from "serious" fantasy hockey for a few seasons, and I've lost track of many of the top prospects. I'm in a deep! keeper league (20 teams, 20 roster spots) and am pretty weak at LW.

Other than Drouin and Baertschi, I am looking for suggestions as to a players with high-end talent I might be able to grab and stash on bench for later in the season or next year.

Yes, I know this is rather vague as everyone's definition of "prospect" varies, so any suggestions are appreciated.

    Thanks!

Hard to say how many of them will keep their LW status in the long term - I'm seeing more prospects forced to convert to whatever the team needs. But here are a few of varying level of experience/positions on the depth chart to look into who are usually considered LW right now:

    Filip Forsberg (NAS)
    Teuvo Teravainen (CHI)
    ...
    Emerson Etem (ANA)
    Jason Zucker (MIN)
    Nicklas Jensen (VAN)
    Matt Nieto (SJ)
    Taylor Beck (NAS)

Nquist, and Schwartz were drafted as LW or have played LW, but are currently listed as C in Yahoo, so it all depends on your league positional settings.

Have a look at these - most of them aren't too far off. I prefer Teravainen, but he could be the last of these to play. He and Forsberg are a step ahead of the next tier in my mind.

Max Domi is definitely one of the best LW prospects out there that isn't going to play in NHL this season.

I have been keeping an eye on Nyquist as well. Kreider's stock seems to have dropped this season, any idea why?

He´s just to fickle and so he´s more a long term project. His upside is still quite high, but many expected him to be in the NHL on a permanent basis already.

CK has always been of those guys who has all the tools just has to put it together.
But hes always been so inconsistant. Definitely wouldnt put him among the top LW prospects out there.

Music to my ears. Picked him up with the 66th pick in my draft. (My league places a heavy emphais on NHL ready guys)...
