Default Voracek or Mackinnon or Drouin

Points only. I have 1st overall and I've wanted Voracek for a while. Someone dropped him and he will go in the top 5 in our draft. I tried trading for home with no luck. I have 3 draft picks in the first round. Should I pass on Voracek hoping to get him at 5 or take him right away and give up mackinnon or drouin?

Even if my team was in the running to win the league I would still go with MacKinnon over anyone because I see him having the brightest future. Drouin not too far from Mack and Voracek might be good now but Mack and Drouin have higher ceilings imo

Who else was dropped in your league? How do you think tht top 4 would go if you took Mack/Drouin 1st overall??

If your intention is to try to win this year, take the BPA this year with this first pick. If you aren't ready to contend just yet, then I'd go MacKinnon.

A couple other ok players were dropped. Lupul, pominville, Keith,

I see the draft going as: bolded are my picks

    1. Mackinnon
    2. Drouin
    3. Voracek
    4. Jones
    5. Keith
    6. Pominville
    7. Lupul

Pick 1, 5 & 7 in the first round are mine.

I'm confident not one of voracek mackinnon or drouin will be available at 5.

You have a good team and if you think you have a chance to win it all this year then you should draft Voracek. He will give your team a boost right away where Mac or Drouin will be 2-3 years away from helping your team.

Yup, that's exactly what I said, lol.

It seems very odd to me to draft MacKinnon with your first pick, and then a guy like Lupul with your 7th pick. Either you are trying to win this year, or you aren't! MacKinnon and Barkov make sense. Or Voracek and Lupul. But trying to win and build for the future? I'm not sure you can pull that off!

Looking at my team I'm definitely not in rebuild mode. Mackinnon or drouin is great trade bait. But then again I'd probably end up with a Voracek type player. I'm not sure I wanna wait 3 years for production.

It will be years before the two rookies are at Voracek's level today.

If you have any chance of winning the championship, I'd take Cek. Last season was no fluke.

Could you draft Mackinnon or Drouin then trade him for someone better than Voracek?
