Letang says things going well but no target date for playing. Did a lot of working out while he was off the ice. #Penguins

My weekly lineup has to be set tonight and is in effect until next Wednesday night. My options are Marc Staal, Ryan Murray or Letang for my last active dman slot. Any thoughts? Staal and Murray don't offer much at the moment. Should I just gamble with Letang?

This is that latest I have found on twitter:

    Shelly Anderson ‏@pgshelly 46m
#Penguins just coming onto ice for practice. Kris Letang among them. He's slated for a full practice for first time since injury.

    Josh Yohe ‏@JoshYohe_Trib 44m
Letang is practicing with the team today. Looks fine.
Maybe there will be an update on his status after practice? .... I think I would roll the dice and start Letang anyways if you dont hear anything. Staal only plays twice anyways and Murray hasnt been doing much as you said and he has been getting no PP time.

Yeah I noticed that Murray is contributing next to nothing for my kind of league (Dobberhockey Experts League). Staal is actually ranked lower in Yahoo than guys who have yet to play which explains everything about his play. I think all three will be viable in time but I think I will stay away from Staal until NYR works things out.

Looked as if Bennett, Neal were only #Penguins not traveling to Philadelphia for Thursday's game.
Letang must be making the trip which is promising. The again that's what I said about the Florida trip too.

#Pens used Engelland at forward and Letang working with 2nd PP unit. Maybe he returns & Pens dress 7 D? I don't know. Interesting tho -SK

    Dave Molinari ‏@MolinariPG 1m
Letang working on No. 2 power play with Niskanen, Kobasew, Sutter and Dupuis.

and then Bylsma dashes my hopes for an imminent return with this comment

    Dave Molinari ‏@MolinariPG 6m
Penguins coach Dan Bylsma, on the status of injured D Kris Letang: "There’s not a timetable on Kris’ return at this point."

He could be on the active roster taking a regular shift and they'll still say no timetable.

Next up Letang will do power play drills with the alumni team and will do shootout drills with a lucky local minor hockey team. No timetable for a return though.

You guys are reading into this all wrong.

What this means is Maatta will be sent back to juniors and a Niskanen trade is on the horizon THUS they're actually signing Rierden to a veterans minimum contract to fill in as a 6th/7th dman

The Pittsburgh Penguins provided a vague announcement that defenseman Kris Letang is "close" to return, yet the team doesn't want to rush him back.
The Penguins play on Monday, then Friday and Saturday this week. If they decide he's that close, it might make sense to wait until the weekend, or maybe even just play him one of those two days. It's frustrating to miss out on an elite fantasy blueliner, but it sounds like he'll be back soon. Oct 20 - 1:42 PM

    from twitter today:

    Shelly Anderson ‏@pgshelly 15m
Kris Letang skating on extra pairing with Deryk Engelland at #Penguins skate.

    Shelly Anderson ‏@pgshelly 8m
Letang is not working on either power-play unit at #Penguins skate.
sounds like he is out tonight so hopefully he will be back for the 2 weekend games

    edit:

    Shelly Anderson ‏@pgshelly 9m
Now Letang is rotating in on the second power-play unit. #Penguins

I sent out a tweet to Josh Yohe regarding Letang and he replied with the following.

    Josh Yohe ‏@JoshYohe_Trib 2h
@MacVincent1 I expect him back Friday. He's ready.
"Be yourself; everyone else is already taken."

"Be kind, for everyone you meet is fighting a hard battle."

    Shelly Anderson ‏@pgshelly 17m
Letang working on the top power play unit, with Martin Crosby Malkin and Kunitz. #Prnguins
I think that means he is back in Friday. He has not been practicing with the top unit up to this point so this is a good sign he is ready.
