Looking for advice on who to keep and early round drafting strategies.
12 team league, 6 keepers.

Current keepers Crosby, Eric Staal, Phaneuf, Jamie Benn, Luongo
10 offensive cats, 5 goalie categories

Potential 5 and 6 keepers (almost all managers draft based on Yahoo ranking)
Hartnell
Green
Brown
Ott
Callahan
Kesler
Hey there!
So, just my thoughts, but from what you said, by the managers mostly draft by the default rankings.. you will probably be able to get Hartnell and Ott rather deeper in your draft then anyone else.
I think Kesler is the top ranked guy here, but for some reason (and this is just personal, not based on anything) I'm not really expecting anything phenomenal out of him.
I also like to try to have 1, 2 point getting offensive D men, but the rest more focused on the peripheral cats of blks and hits, and let my forwards get the majority of points, With Phaneuf already you've got both, which is great. I like Green, but can you trust him to be healthy? if you do, he's great, but won't get you much Pims, hits or blks (which is fine for 1-2 Dmen)
For me, in these leagues, I also love having 1-2 Power forwards that can get you pretty much everything (but blks, and probably FOW)
My fav is Brown, great team so good +/-, hits like a machine, and still scores with PP time.
Callahan is good too. Hartnell I've always liked, and should rebound nicely, Ott is fantastic roto wise, especially when you can slot him on the W and get you FOWs (and crazy PIMS) But with both Ott and Hartnell, you should be able to draft them a little farther into the draft as they have slipped quite a bit in the default rankings
But as a keeper, I usually try to keep the highest ranked player that you think will benefit you the most. (Especially if your GMs don't dip too far off the board)
Dunno.. more of a ramble then much help, but there you have it!
Mike Green. He is definitely the most elite player of the group.
If most of your league goes off of Yahoo rankings then Ott should be pretty easy to redraft. If you agree, then I'd be looking at either Kesler or Green. Both have durability issues but have more upside with your stats.
For me, Ott is the beast of the group. Particularly because you count hits, PIM and FOW. Solid value player.
