TT could easily be a more valuable goaltender than Ondrej Pavelec this season....but if it cam down to picking one for my fantasy squad tonight, I'd take Pavelec seeing as it's a guarantee he's a team's starting goaltender.

You know, that plus he's actually signed to an NHL contract.

    Pavelec.
At least he knows Winnipeg's team & system.
He also plays in the weaker Western Conference.

Thomas is joining a new Florida team, with a poor defense (IMO).
It's going to take a while to learn to read his teammates.
Florida is also travelling a lot now that they play with BOS/OTT/TOR/MON/DET/BUF/TB... not exactly an easy division. I don't see a lot of wins there.

    General goalie note:
I'm very skeptical on drafting goalies on new teams.
I won't touch Schneider or Thomas this year.
I'll probably stay away from Bernier unless I can draft both TOR goalies as a tandem.

Goalies don't just rely on skill with goaltending.
They also learn to read the way their defensemen move in front of them.
The way shooting lanes open & close.
Which defensemen give up shots through their legs, which defensemen are likly to get burned by stickhandling, or around the corners.

After playing with a team for several years, goalies move naturally... anticipating the opportunities that opposing forwards will have (as instinct to knowing the weaknesses of their own defense).

At least, that's some of my experience from having new goalies on my own hockey teams and playing a lot of defense growing up. (they yelled at me, those new goalies. "I can't see"... "move"... "Don't let him back in so far"... "take the shooter"... "force the pass"... "get your body out of that shot"... "get in the way of that shot"... yeesh... goalie are effin crazy... nut jobs... honestly...)
