Personally I don't see this as a shocking opinion. I do a lot of coaching at the youth level and the last thing a team needs is people spouting off on twitter every time they are unhappy about something. Team issues need to be discussed internally. Once something is said online there is no taking it back.

Agree with Torts. Social media will be dead in 5 years time anyway. It really is a bad thing for kids growing up.

    Couldn't disagree more.

Not trying to call you out or anything but I'm really curious as to why you think this. Both parts.

You can disagree for sure, I'm not taking offense or anything.

All these types of innovations don't have a very long lifespan. Maybe the concept of "social media" will still be there in some form, but I expect Twitter to decline at some point in the next 5 years. Some other tool will be introduced. Just a few years back it was hard to believe that MySpace would be pretty much dead or MSN Messenger.

As for the kids, it's making their attention spans very short, increasing cyber bullying, distracting them from school (imagine having twitter in class now), and it's just inspiring them to do ******ed shit like twerking.

I love twitter for news, that's about it. Posting that you're taking a shit while eating a tiramisu at your local coffee shop while twerking all at the same time is the stuff that is just stupid for kids and adults.

Kids in school (elementary and middle school) should not have a cell phone let alone use twitter. Just do a search of something and you will see some ****ed up stuff from some dumb little brats.

Just like most platforms, you will only get the most of it if you know what to use it for.

That could be said about things pre-internet.

You really shouldn't do that. It could get really messy. I mean, what if you dropped your tiramisu?
