Cowan looked like a beast at times in the playoffs. He is huge and I saw him as a potential second commming of Chara. He loves to hit. However, forums and fantasy blogs do not even rate him as buy low candidate in deeper leagues. Any reason why? Is Corvo that much of a block to his development?

Thought he could be a Chara-Weber as well but over the last two years changed that to Marc Staal upside, which is still very good. Needs to sign a deal and avoid missing camp and pre-season as kevin wrote above. Needs to work on his puck skills to become a Chara type, and even then Chara wasn't supposed to be Chara either. Corvo doesn't block him but the emergence of Methot and Wiercioch do.
Way more offensive than him especially the potential for goals.
Chara's name grew on fantasy sites when he started putting up points.

Cowan's upside is limited. Extremely valuable in 'real' hockey, not so much in fantasy
