If he wants to be a #1 goalie, I dont see any teams calling. Every team more or less has their goalie situation figured out already

Battle with Nabokov with the Islanders?
I think FLA and CGY should stick with their rebuilds and let the young goalies develop.

Did he just wait until now to start negotiating? There weren't many Thomas rumours floating around all summer...

Calgary or Florida could use him in a big way if he still has what it takes. I think Markstrom and whoever the hell is in Calgary will crumble without a veteran guy cutting into their starts

he is not interested in being a backup. there are not many teams left.
maybe Jacob Markstrom struggles early and he gets a starting gig there.
calgary maybe(ramo), but why would they even want to win games this year?
id bet he doesnt sign anywhere unless there is a major injury to a starter. but hey, you never know.

Because that's why you play the game. Winning games helps more than letting guys get shelled while "developing". A great goalie instills confidence in the whole lineup and can be the difference between a playoff team and a bottom feeder

Colorado might make sense if they think they can make the playoffs this year. But that proves they overpaid for Varlamov, and they might not want that.

Every other team, he'll have to wait to see what happens. I could see Philly being a good option if Mason and Emery struggle. Of course, the Flyers are already a few million over the cap, but when has that ever stopped them before?

Why not Tampa...I know they think they are okay...but a guy like Thomas would give them a real chance to compete. Otherwise, I think they are a bubble playoff team.

I think they want to give Lindback and Bishop a chance to see how good they can be, especially Bishop.

    How about WPG?
Pavelec has never posted great stats and he could easily come in and steal the job there.

Thomas announced he was looking for a team quite some time ago. I believe even before free agency started. If teams didn't want him as a number 1 goalie then, why would they now?

I think his only option will be to take a low value contract as a back up and try to win a job.

I don't see the point in either Calgary or Florida taking him on; I don't see either as playoff teams...so why bother?

Who's Matheson? Sounds like a load. I can see Thomas getting an invite, but if he was going to sign, he would have by now. Personally, I think he burned bridges and has been labeled a sh#t disturber.

An injury to a playoff team may get him a one year deal.
