Getting a bit off topic, but I've always been curious about why some men think lesbians are hot. There would never be a situation where a lesbian would be attracted to a man, so is it just about the double whammy of curves if two lesbians are going at it? What's the angle here?

If you're speaking about dudes finding women hot specifically because they're lesbian, then I agree, makes no sense.
But finding a lesbian hot because they're hot, well, women are women regardless of who they want to get down with.

I don't mean to de-rail the girl on girl chat because it's a topic that probably crops up in my sub conscience about 4-5 times a day ..............BUT...........I don't understand why, if Avery can do whatever he wants with his life, as I wholeheartedly agree, do people feel the need to congratulate him for simply doing whatever he wants? 13 states and all of Canada now issue marriage licences to gay couples, many gay pride parades across the continent are massive draws and stars are coming out of the closet left, right and centre. There will always be intolerant people, doesn't mean the general consensus isn't one of tolerance. In my world there is no 'gay issue' to speak of, it's barely a topic anymore.....guess we live in different worlds.

Really? Many of them occupy prominent roles in public positions or private entities. Maybe in sports, there's a bit of a lag... but in Canada, overall, I don't think we're that far off, if we are at all.

All babe talk aside, I live in small town Ontario and intolerance is among the minority. I'm 31 and ive seen that change here even since I was a teenager. That's obviously not exclusive to my town, I think we've seen serious progression in the collective mindset thoughout a lot of areas in North America. It blows my mind that it's even an issue anywhere at this point but the momentum in recent times is encouraging.

Who the hell knows with Avery. From what I have read, he and this other fellow may just be friends. Either way, good for him. Whether he's out of the closet, or just comfortable hanging out shirtless with gay men and letting people speculate, good for him.

As for the Brodeur incident, I loved it. It was creative, bloody obnoxious, legal, and effective. It would have been even more effective if Marty had swung at his head and been penalized for it. I don't really buy the respect thing. If your number one talent in life is being an obnoxious prick, and by doing so you think you can help your team win, then do it. It's like when people bitch about some hotshot rookie pulling a spinorama/other fancy deke in a shootout. The kid is good at that move. He's never going to get away with it in a real game again, but in a shootout, it might just win the game. What's he supposed to do, cruise down the ice and shoot into the goalie's pads out of respect, or use the ability he has to do the job he's supposed to do?

Maybe in Canada people are accepting of it but I know the USA still has a long way to go. Just because 13 states issue marriage licences doesn't mean that they have full rights. Do they have rights to have full marriage ceremonies or just get the licence? Many gays are still being discriminated against in the work place (teachers who are openly gay in most states are released) and in cities such as St. Louis there are even laws that allow landlords to ban gay couples from their rentals based if they claim their lifestyles offend the landlord's moral beliefs.

It's a shame. We waste time arguing over stupid shit like this which should be a no brainer and we don't have time to address our real problems anymore.
