It wouldn't be hard to disprove. We should have an idea if the Carolina line is the top scoring line at the end of the season. If it's close, then you can compare a couple of players from different lines to see. All it takes is one line outscoring Carolina for it to be wrong.
I'm not the one taking care of this, but sounds a bit labour intensive for just one forecast.

    1) Ottawa wins the #1 seed for the Eastern Conference.
    2) Bobby Ryan wins the Rocket Richard Trophy
    .....gotta stop focusing on Ottawa.....
    3) Vancouver misses the playoffs
    4) An NHL player ends up in a coma from an on-ice infraction.
    5) Nathan MacKinnon finishes in the Top 10 in league scoring.

    I'll give it a shot:
    1. Ovechkin gets over 60 goals
    2. New Jersey finishes bottom 4 in the standings.
    3. Martin St. Louis finishes with fewer than 65 points.
    4. No one from the 2013 draft gets nominated for the Calder.
    5. Luongo wins the Vezina (edit -- b/c I'm an idiot; the last line was still in my head).

Man, forget the 1 to 5 ranking system. I think if that one comes true, you should automatically win the contest.

Actually, it'd be pretty simple. You could do it in a couple of minutes.

12-team Keeper pool, straight points for forwards & dmen. Goalies get: 2 points per win, 3 per shutout, 1 point per assist & 1 point per shootout loss.

    League champ in 2013, 2015, 2018, 2020 and 2022.

Top 8 forwards, 5 dmen and 2 goalies count.

We keep 15 players (any position) plus two rookies.

Forwards: Panarin, Ovechkin, Kopitar, Stamkos, Tuch, Rust, Marchessault, Pavelski, Miller, Bertuzzi, Stone, Kakko, Brown, Stankoven, Kovalenko

    Great contest.
[If interested, I'd love to be on the experts grading panel.]

    My predictions:
    1. Minnesota Wild finish with top record in Western Conference.
    2. Five EDM Oilers finish above 60pts! Five!
    3. The Florida Panthers finish last in the NHL... more than 10pts worse than the 2nd worst team.
    4. Steve Mason wins 30+ games. (30 or more)
    5. Paul Stastny plays at least 10 regular season games as Pittsburgh's #2 center.

Those predictions are even bolder when combined. That means Malkin and Crosby have to be fourth and fifth in scoring at the highest.

Having never tried this before, zero points may tie you for first place.

Hmmmm, since you have a minimal value of 1 for each, maybe I should just make mine 5 really obvious forecasts (e.g. CHI wins at least one game this season) and hope my grand total of 5 points carry me to first place.

    Mwahaha!
