Rookies can also be kept as one of the veteran 8 but not vice versa.
I have no problem keeping all 5 goalies and use them as trade bait later in the season.
I also have the #1 overall pick. Considering that the top 132 players will be kept Should I go for McKinnon or Drouin?
Normally the top prospects go very early in the draft since we can keep them for at least 2 years as our "rookies"

In all seriousness, you wont go wrong with either MacKinnon or Drouin but I would probably roll with MacKinnon as well.
