    Default Keepers

I have now narrowed my list of keepers to two possibilities. Points only, must protect b/w 220-235 points and players protected occupy the draft slot in which they finished on your team (i.e. I will be protecting Rask, who finished 3rd on my team with 50 points; thus Rask would occupy my third draft slot, and I would not be drafting in the third round). Same team as in siggy. I am debating between these two possibilititties:

    List A

    1 P Kane
    2
    3 Rask
    4 Pavelec
    5
    6
    7
    8
    9
    10 Suter
    11
    12 RNH
    13
    14
    15
    16
    17 Giordano
    18
    19
    20 Spezza
    21 Weiss

    List B

    1 P Kane
    2
    3 Rask
    4
    5
    6
    7
    8
    9 E Kane
    10 Suter
    11 Goligoski
    12 RNH
    13
    14
    15
    16
    17
    18
    19
    20 Spezza
    21 Weiss

I am heavily leaning toward List B, but wonder what others think. With List B, I would have an early 2nd round draft pick. I would need to use it on a G. Bearing in mind that the G I would dropping is Pavelc, the downgrade would not, IMO, be signiicant (if a downgrade at all). Basically, I believe that one of several decent, albeit unspectacular, options will be available - Backstrom, Nabakov, Pavelec, Dubnyk...

So, with List B: E Kane, one of the above Gs, a newly opened 4th round draft pick (in List A, Pavelec occupied my 4th round slot), and Goligoski

    vs.

List A: Keeping 2 Gs, a second round pick which I could use on a F and not on a D (although a McKinnon would likely be available, I would have to use the pick on a Vanek/Zetterberg type player if I am to go for the win; picking a Mackinnon could be conceding the season), and Giordano (remember, in List B I get Goli).

    Thoughts?

Evander is a steal for 9th pick. List B looks better to me.

I like list B as well. Protecting Pavelec for that price doesn't seem worth it.

Another vote for list B. Think you can get better value than Pavelec at your #4 pick. Love E. Kane at #9 too, fantastic value

List b for sure. Of course I am not a pavelec fan.

Goligoski is going to have a very good year in my books.

    Another vote for B.

I really like Goligoski this year as well.

Dropping Pavlec, is in my opinion the worst part of this as I think WPG will do decent this year, but Nabokov would be a suitable replacement.

    List A
    4 Pavelec
    17 Giordano

    List B
    9 E Kane
    11 Goligoski

Unless my eyes are crossed (and that happens sometimes), the difference in your list comes down to 4. Pavelec + 17 Giordano versus 9. Kane and 11. Goligoski.

I think Pavelec at 4 is way too high for what he brings, and I'm not very keen on Giordano or Calgary. Whereas E Kane is an absolute stud, and Goligoski is a very good keeper. I strongly prefer option B.

    Good luck.

Appreciate the replies. The issue is the availabilty of Gs at my second round pick. I am guessing the Gs that will be available, but won't know for sure until everyone submits their keeper list.

It's a risk, but I believe one worth taking.
