    Default Seguin & FOWs

With Seguin going to DAL and likely being the C on the top line (with Benn at W), will he take alot of faceoffs or will Benn take them? FOWs in my league really make a difference in overall Fantasy Points and having a C who wins alot of faceoffs is key. At this point, I am keeping Sequin as my 2nd C (Tavares is my #1), but if he is not going to be a FOW producer, I can try to trade him or possible keep a 3rd wing instead (Sharp, Brown, Ryan).

I have an offer out there to swap Seguin for Benn.

    Thoughts on FOWs for Seguin...

Looks like Benn's FOW% is pretty bad (.431,.462,.461 career .458), so I would expect them to give Seguin the faceoffs, at least at first to see if he is any better.
If he doesn't do any better, maybe Horcoff gets to be the #1 C!!!!

Lol. They won't take Seguin out of the 1C spot because of face off percentage. He just won't take D-Zone draws. That doesn't hurt his value at all. Stop being silly. Seguin and Benn will probably both take draws, and I would keep Seguin.

I think Benn's days taking face-offs ended the day that Dallas obtained Seguin.

Between Seguin and Benn, Seguin will definitely be the primary guy to take FOW. That is centers responsibility and Dallas will want Seguin to be their franchise center and he then needs to take faceoffs. Benn isn't even any better than Seguin in faceoffs so no reason for him to be used over Seguin in the faceoff circle.

However if Peverley takes that RW spot next to those two, he may take some of the faceoffs as he's great in that area. Especially in the defensive zone they may use him over Seguin.

so i need not worry (as of right now) about Seguin's lack of face off experience in the NHL. he is a natural center so he should have some skills here right? i know he has taken them in th epast for BOS but given his role on that team they were few and far between.

ok guys, i will hold seguin and hope for the best. worst case scenario, he isn't all that great at FOWs, but should still put up the points being the #1 guy in DAL. i suppose it is worth the risk.

again, thanks all. tried to hand out rep but apparently i must spread it around some before i get back to you guys. will try to remember.

+1. Not all 1C's are spectacular at faceoffs.

It is very, very rare for a wing to take face-offs.
Both guys (Seguin & Benn) need a change from their past positions.

Nill (Dallas GM) gets to look like a wizard if the position switch works for both.

Seguin is going to be an AWESOME player to own in FOW leagues this year because he should open in most fantasy leagues as RW.

Chiasson plays RW but has been a regular in the faceoff circle both in college and in the AHL. Just sayin'... (put my boy on the first line, HINT HINT)

i feel better now....Seguin thinks he will be good at faceoffs:

Tyler Seguin thinks he'll be good on the draw now that he's shifting back to center.

Seguin only won 48.9% of his faceoffs last season, but he was limited to 45 opportunities. "I was good at faceoffs," he said, referring to his junior career. "I haven’t done it too much since then, but obviously that’s something I’ll be focused on for the summer. When I was growing up, I was always more of a quick guy, I was always beating players with more quickness than actual strength. It’s going to be an adjustment. I still worked on draws every year for the few years in Boston with the other centermen, so it’s not going to be exactly brand new to me." Dallas ranked near the bottom of the league in 2013 with a 47.2% faceoff success rate.

    whew!
