I wasnt really sure what forums section to throw this is so if a Mod feels this is the wrong one, by all means move it to the correct section.
I dug up an old school fantasy guide and took some pics to share with you. It was fun going back through this old magazine and remembering how we used to do it before computers. Just the good ole pen and paper. Old school fantasy hockey.
This guide was for the upcoming 1999 season. I am not sure how to size the pics properly so my apologizes if they are huge.

The predicted top 100 scorers for the upcoming season. I'd love to say who I got that year but in all honesty, I wrote my picks down on another piece of paper and simply scratched off names as they were picked. All I can remember is we had to draft a certain amount of forwards and a certain amount of D and one goalie.

Those magazines still hold some value to me. Just another tool in the toolbox. Good reading material. But on draft day I always have my laptop with me and a spreadsheet to search for the chosen name and "delete row" instead of crossing out the name on a paper list.
These days it's almost always the guys with the paper lists who are slowest to make their picks.

In Strachan's defense, that 1999 season may have been the best period for European flavour in the NHL.
Jagr, Selanne, Yashin, Sundin, Forsberg, Palffy, Demitra, Stumpel, Sykora, Reichel, Nedved... all kinds of Euros/Russians in the top 20 in scoring back then.
Side story: My mom and my dad both know absolutely nothing about hockey.
However, whenever Strachan is/was on HNIC back in the day, my mom used to love to tell stories about how one of her friends used to date him.

This is pure gold. I loved the old school days of circling each morning's box scores in the paper and not getting the "late" West Coast games to the following day after the games. The old magazines are classic too. Great stuff!
