    Default Morgan Rielly

I'm a Leaf fan and I just traded for this gem in my main pool. I'm super excited as I feel he is the best Leaf prospect I can remember. What do you guys think of him? Long term upside and when he will arrive?

Just noticed I inverted the E and I in the thread title, If a mod could fix it would be appreciated!

I think he will play next year, but not really be an impact player for 2-3 years

If you don't mind me asking, what did you give up to obtain Rielly?

I have high hopes for him, but am not expecting very much this year or next.

But I think he has the potential to be a top-2, PP specialist kind of guy, a la Justin Schultz.

    I'm banking on it, anyways...

    BBB,

Rielly is one of my fav prospects out there. I think he is a gem and will end up a top-end, offensive D-Man who will supply between 48-60 points on average. He may get his feet wet this season but I see him starting to make a legit impact by 2015-16 (around 44 points). I'll gar as far as saying, out of ALL the NHL eligible defensemen who have not played a game yet, Rielly is my 2nd favorite, only behind Seth Jones.

If you have seen any of the dev camp videos, you will fall in love with him if you haven't already.

Such a fluid skater, looks like his is floating out there.

I'm also interested in what you traded to get him - I own him in a couple leagues and have high hopes for him.

I traded my first round pick next year (won't be anything too high, I'm a perennial contender) and Robbie Fabbri, who is a bottom half of the first round 2014 draft eligible player. I was very happy with the deal....

I have seen him play live numerous times and he's skating makes me giddy. I think the better version of Gardiner was an apt comparison.

That makes me feel better. I draft Morgan Reilly in the fourth round of my pool last year, 44th overall. I traded the no.2 pick (Justin Schultz) and no. 69 (Jason Zucker) for no.3 pick (Galchenyuk) and no.44 (Reilly).

Thanks! The trade was made moments before the draft started, so the only thing I knew for sure that I was going to get Galchenyuk at 3rd. Galch was the guy I was targetting since Yaks was going first. So I did some pick flips because the guy at 3rd really wanted to guarantee himself that he'd get Schultz.
