    Post Anderson or Crawford ?

I also have a deal that someone(Leafs Fan) want Reimer. I could get back Anderson or Crawford in the deal. He has Bernier and wants the 1-2 punch

league stats? Anderson is the better goalie, Chicago is the better team. If GAA and SV% matter more, take Anderson. If W and SO matter more, take Crawford.

Without knowing more I'd take Crawford. I'll assume it's a league with some combo of W, SV%, GAA and SO. I'll also assume it's some kind of keeper as you're posing in the off-season.

I think Anderson is getting way to much love based on 24 GP last season. Anderson's numbers from the last 6 seasons are this:
    GP W SO SV% GAA
    2008-2009 Panthers 31 15 3 0.924 2.71
    2009-2010 Avalanche 71 38 7 0.917 2.64
    2010-2011 Avalanche 33 13 0 0.897 3.28
    2010-2011 Senators 18 11 2 0.939 2.05
    2011-2012 Senators 63 33 3 0.914 2.84
    2012-2013 Senators 24 12 3 0.941 1.69

Far from consistent. As good as his 24 GP were last year, his 63 GP the year before were equally bad. He's a career .915 SV% vs. Crawford's .913. Since joining the Sens he has a 2.43 compared to Crawford's 2.40. Plus Anderson is older and has Lehner coming up looking to steal his spot whereas Crawford just won Chicago a cup and this the guy.

For next season I see their peripherals being very close. Crawford will get more starts, more wins and similar shutouts. Going forward I don't think it's close, Ottawa is high on Lehner and Anderson may be forced out whereas Crawford has a stronger hold on being 1A for a longer period of time.

I agree with most of your post but Craig Anderson has been pretty consistent over his career.

Save percentage last 6 years (note, you said last 6 years but two of them were the same year, when he got traded):

    .935
    .924
    .917
    .913
    .914
    .941

Only that start in Colorado in 11-12 was inconsistent with his normal stats. When your worst year is .913 you're a pretty darn good goalie.

I expect a season of around .920 with a GAA of 2.3 coming up.

I agree that he has a lot more competition than Crawford although I wouldn't say Crawford has a strong hold on the role. If he falters he will be replaced by somebody.

    Can't beleve timing on this.

I was coming to post the exact same question...but from a different angle.

Currently rolling with Rinnie/Anderson and Bernier as my 3 tenders.

I have 1 too many Defenders to keep and was trying to see if I could upgrade Anderson.

    Deal on the table...

    Anderson and Streit
    for
    Crawford

LEaving me with Karlsson, OEL, Edler and Fowler.

He's aggressive so may require a snap decision...Thoughts?

I have a proposal out for QUICK...but Crawford is FAR cheaper.

    Stick with Rinne/Anderson/Bernier
    or make the move for
    Rinne/Crawford/Bernier?

Just saying they have some other nice goalie prospects. Not expecting Crawford to lose his job any time soon.

Probably better if you start your own thread rather than hijack this one.

I wouldn't say nice goalie prospects. The only close prospect is Raanta.

I had a draft a few weeks ago where i picked Crawford 29th overall and Anderson 36th overall, so i think itīs close but i gave a small edge to Crawford and i still feel it was the right choice.

16 teams with W,SV,SV%,GAA and SO.

For some reason I thought they had a couple other nice prospects but after checking, you are right.

Still, I don't think either guy will not be a #1 goalie for a long while. Even if Anderson loses out to Lehner, he will find a gig elsewhere.

Yup. Sorry my bad, started to type and and saw exactly the question I was going to ask. Hate being redundant.

    I'll move it along.
